"Fabulous location and a fascinating building - highly recommend the little tour that you can take to learn about the history. The pool is lovely, as is the walking in the countryside around the abbey - other than that there's not a lot to do other than soak up the atmosphere. We stayed for two dinners and one lunch. "Lovely hotel with a great pool and setting. The positives were the staff, breakfast, pool. When we checked in the first room allocated smelt and clearly needed some plumbing work… the staff immediately moved us to a larger room which was kind. However the new room had no shower pressure at all and lacked some essential amenities such as hooks for hanging anything. The room was wonderfully large but sadly lacked personality. "As you drive through the gate you will be amazed by the beauty of this property. The owners have attended to every detail. The gardens are beautiful, the outdoor space is fabulous and the pool is inviting. The only concern was that the fourth bedroom was up a windy, steep staircase. Not ideal for couples in their 70’s. "The house is absolutely beautiful. Everything about the house is true. However it was a little difficult for our relatives to find the house, when they came to visit us. And a longer walk to the beach than we expected. But staying there was gorgeous."
