Peaceful and Relaxing
The hosts Mark and Lerryn are great hosts. Very attentive. Casa Lerryn is a lovely place to spend a relaxing week. The most noise we could hear are the crickets chirping in the evening. We really enjoyed our stay. The pool area is a real sun trap and a great place to get a tan. Thank you Mark and Lerryn for letting us stay in your Casa.

Perfect lie by the pool holiday.
Perfect place for a relaxed lie by the pool in beautiful surroundings and perfect peace and quiet. Hosts were lovely. Property far exceeded expectations. Pool because fairly shallow, did not need heating and so was perfect temperature.

Highly recommended, beautiful location, peaceful.
Thank you to Mark and Lerryn. This is a really beautiful property, in a wonderful location. I booked it based on previous reviews. Waking up to the sound of bird song is wonderfully peaceful. We have walked and canoed and felt at one with nature. The coast is just over an hour away. The pond in the garden is home to water voles, lovely watching the adults and their young come out to feed. Frog made me jump one nightr! We have returned really refreshed. There are some lovely traditional restaurants in the area, which are very reasonably priced, and the food is wonderfully traditional. The house and the pool are immaculately maintained, and Mark and Lerryn are on hand and are very responsive. We would thoroughly recommend, and will return.

Lovely relaxing holiday
We had a lovely relaxing week at Casa Lerryn, it is in a lovely quiet area in the countryside but only a 5 minute drive into Serta. The villa was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with great outdoor spaces including a lovely barbeque area. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor games available to entertain young children. Lerryn and Mark were great hosts, they provided lots of information and advice on places to go to and things to do. We had a lovely week at Casa Lerryn.

Fabulous family holiday
This was our first visit to Portugal and it didn’t disappoint. Casa Lerryn was the perfect location for our family holiday. The property was clean, well equipped and modern. Our girls loved the pool that Mark maintains to such a high standard. The outdoor spaces were all lovely, we made good use of the BBQ and kitchen. The location was perfect for us, quiet and relaxing surrounded by nature but only a 5 minute drive from Serta with it’s great selection of shops and restaurants. There were lots of things to see and do within the area. We didn’t manage to visit everything, we might have to go back one day! Lerryn and Mark were super hosts. They are always on hand with some helpful suggestions for days out etc but never intrusive. If you fancy a holiday away from the masses and a bit of adventure I can’t recommend this area and property strongly enough. We have come home relaxed and rejuvenated. We all agree this was the best family holiday we have taken.

We had a fabulously relaxing time at Casa Lerryn. It is a beautifully rural part of Portugal. Our accommodation had everything we could need. Lerryn and Mark are delightful hosts. I would highly recommend their accommodation.

Couldn't have asked for a better stay and better people to share it with. They were a true joy to talk to more than willing to helpin anyway. They go the extra mile in making sure you are treated just as they would hope to be treated in any stay they have and it shows. Best experience you could ask for and highly recommend. If I get back to the area this is where I will be headed.

Fantastic holiday property
Casa Lerryn is a gorgeous property in a fantastic location. We have just had a wonderful holiday cycling in the beautiful hills, forests and mountains around Serta. Roads are smooth and quiet and perfect for cycling. Lerryn and Mark were perfect hosts and so friendly and helpful even arranging bike hire for me at very short notice. We will hopefully be back in the future. Definitely recommended.

Perfection!
This property has everything you need and more for an amazing holiday. It was spotlessly clean. A beautiful rural property with a modern interior. It has every mod con including a dishwasher and washing machine and all the uk tv channels. There were little extras like board games and books available but the main attraction is the outdoor space. The pool area was beautiful, with views out to the countryside. The only noise is from the birdsong and the occasional cricket. Despite being so peaceful, it is literally a 1 minute drive to the Intermarche and a 2 min drive into Serta with its numerous shops, restaurants and gorgeous riverside walks. It also is right beside the IC8 which is a main road which links Serta to many different towns like Castelo Branco and Coimbra. Another highlight is the owners Mark and Lerryn themselves. They were warm, friendly and would do anything for you. We really enjoyed our chats with them although they totally respect your privacy too. We were here for 2 weeks and didn't want to leave! Thanks for an amazing time.xx

A wonderful family holiday!
We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at the beautiful Casa Lerryn. The weather was superb with wall to wall sunshine and we were able to really enjoy the stunning surrounding countryside at it's very best . The accommodation was spacious, very clean and tastefully decorated and furnished with all the home from home comforts you could need to make your stay a relaxing and special one. We loved the local restaurants and river side tapas bars and found eating out was so much more affordable than in other European holiday destinations, so made the most of the wonderful local cuisine and Sangria! There is plenty to do and see in the area, although we discovered a lot of the river side beach cafe's and resorts only open at the beginning of June, when the tourist season begins officially so we made the most of enjoying these beautiful locations without the crowds! We would definitely recommend Casa Lerryn to anyone seeking a beautiful destination 'off the main tourist track' where you can really enjoy a piece of authentic Portugal. Lerryn and Mark could not have been more welcoming and attentive hosts, and we enjoyed getting to know them both during our stay and benefiting from all their local knowledge. We wish them the best of luck and hope one day we may be able to return.

Very relaxing
We had a lovely 10 days at Casa Lerryn. The house and grounds are lovely and we enjoyed exploring the local area as well as walks from the house. Our little boy loved the games in and outside the house and of course the swimming pool was his favourite. Mark and Lerryn were very nice and helpful and knowledgable about the local area . Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of the world.

Perfect relaxing holiday in beautiful house with fantastic pool.

Very helpful owners, lovely property and pool
We had a lovely holiday in Serta, lots to see in the surrounding area especially the river beaches and historical towns and villages. The roads are very clear and the river beaches not at all crowded even in August. The villa itself is very well maintained, clean and comfortable with enough equipment to self cater, though the owners provide lots of suggestions for where to eat out. The pool is lovely and clean and was definitely necessary in August when it can get very hot. Villa stays cool inside if you keep the shutters closed and there is a lovely terrace looking over the forest - nice to sit there and listen to the birdsong in the mornings. There is a spacious area outside to eat with a built in barbeque and a large garden with badminton etc. It is a very well organised villa and the owners are just next door and are extremely friendly and helpful, providing information, maintaining the grounds but also being sensitive to need for privacy. Would certainly recommend this villa and we were all sad to leave!

Wonderful Villa set in a fabulous setting.
Just returned from 2 weeks at Casa Lerryn. The location is fabulous just set outside the friendly town of Serta. Easy to get to from Lisbon Airport with a number of great days out within easy reach, Tomar, Aviero to name just 2. Mark and Lerryn who own the villa make sure you need for nothing whilst you are there, they are on hand to offer advice of where to go, eat and take a scenic drive, but never intrusive. The villa is very well designed and stays very cool during the day with its thick walls and shutter that keep out the son but let through a cooling breeze. The pool is fantastic and many an hour can be spent relaxing around the pool on the loungers provided taking in the beautiful scenery that surrounds the villa. This villa is ideal for a relaxing getaway for couples and families. We had a fantastically relaxing fortnight at Casa Lerryn and look forward to going back in the future.

Paradise!
The most relaxing holiday we have had in a longtime. Our 6 year old even said it was the best holiday ever! The location is just stunning and the local town has everything you need to chill out. Lerryn and Mark are the loveliest couple as well, we have made some new friends. Definitely going back again next year 😀.

Peaceful valley situation, very quiet. Very nice pool although too cold for us to use it much. Fantastic log burner and BBQ to warm up on the colder days! Owners were very helpful and friendly without being at all intrusive.

Peaceful, private property with lovely pool
Casa Lerryn is in a lovely quiet spot, and we enjoyed total privacy, with the comfort of knowing that Mark and Lerryn were next door, to deal with any problems or questions. The property is well-equipped, and we greatly enjoyed the outside terraces and pool. Lots of lovely trees and active birdlife! The property is well-located for access by road, from the north or south; and the nearest Intermarche is very close by - tho we came to prefer the home-grown Pingo Doce supermarket in town. There are lots of pretty routes to nearby river beaches, and we enjoyed going to Tomar and to Coimbra. We also visited Lousa in the mountains, and found the trail of the 'Schist Villages' which travels through the mountains. Mark and Lerryn were exceptionally kind and hospitable - nothing was too much trouble.

A perfect holiday getaway
We enjoyed so much staying in this beautiful house with private swimming pool. The place is surrounded by tranquil nature but the town is very close by and the closest shop and restaurant are in a walking distance. The hosts were really nice and helpful and provided us everything we needed for a lovely holiday. Everthing is also very clean and well organized. The atmosphere in this place is unique. We would love to go again.

très belle vacances
Nous avons passé de très belle journées à la Casa Leryn. Mark et Leryn sont très gentils et toujours très présent mais discret, ils habitent la maison d'a coté. La maison est très bien, la piscine est nettoyer tous les matin, le barbecue et le coin repas sont très bien le jardin est bien entretenu Leryn l'arrose tous les jours.

Adoramos os dias que passamos na casa Leryn. O Mark e a Leryn são um casal muito simpatico e sempre muito presentes mas discretos. Wonderful, quiet, peaceful paradise in the middle of nature
We had a wonderful stay. Casa Lerryn is a wonderful little paradise in the middle of nature. You can relax in and around the pool or at the other seating areas. There are many birds, butterflies, some frogs and we also saw two deer. It is a quiet place to come to rest and become one with yourself and nature. In the garden we play badminton, football and tennis. Everything is already in place for each sport. Lerryn and Mark are wonderful hosts. They are always there if there is a question and have good tips for excursions. With a rental car, you can explore a lot of the surrounding area. Tomar, Coimbra, the N2 route and more. We also visited Lisbon and Porto, which are only two hours away. Serta is a nice little town, good supermarkets and bars. Beautifully situated by the river. We will be back, that's for sure. Very nice house in a brilliant location
It is a house in walking distance of the town, and an oasis of peace. Mark and Lerryn are lovely hosts who want to take care of their guests. We had a very nice stay, working from the house was perfect and the pool was nice to cool down on a warm day. Great stay.

Die Casa Lerryn liegt am Ortsrand, wunderbar ruhig mit Vogelgezwitscher und dem Rauschen der Bäume. Uns haben die verschiedenen Aussenräume sehr gut gefallen: der private Pool-Bereich, die gedeckte Sitzecke vor dem Haus (Ende Okotber mit Decken ausgestattet), die Aussenküche mit Grill. Dazu eine sehr grosszügige Wiese mit verschiedenen Zonen zum Spielen, zum Sitzen, und vielen Blumen. Das Haus ist gemütlich eingerichtet und bietet auch in kühleren Tagen eine angenehme Unterkunft. Für uns war die Region Sertà bisher unbekannt. Wir waren überrascht, wie viel die Region zu bieten hat. Die umgebenden Hügel mit den Wandermöglichkeiten, die Flussbäder, die unzähligen hervorragenden und preiswerten Restaurants und selbstverständlich Städte wie Tomar oder Coimbra, welche mit dem Auto in ca. 1 Std. zu erreichen sind. Lerryn und Mark waren als Ansprechspersonen stets präsent und haben uns herzlich in Empfang genommen. Herzlichen Dank Euch beiden.

Wunderschön, ruhig gelegen und gemütlich
Wir hatten wunderschöne, entspannte 6 Nächte im September in der Casa Lerryn. Wurden zu Beginn super nett von Lerryn und Mark empfangen. Die Kommunikation war von Anfang an sehr gut und unkompliziert. Die Casa selbst ist total gemütlich, sodass man es sich auch an kälteren Tagen drinnen gemütlich machen kann. Der Außenbereich ist ebenfalls ein Traum. Der Pool ist kristallklar (dank Mark, der sich morgens drum kümmert), die Außenküche und verschiedene Sitzmöglichkeiten laden zum verweilen ein und im Garten kann man sich etwas im Schatten aufhalten oder eine Runde Federball spielen :). Mir hat auch die tolle, detaillgetreue Dekoration total gut gefallen. Man merkt, dass Lerryn und Mark auch ihren Gästen für die Urlaubszeit ein kleines Zuhause schaffen wollen. Also, wer Ruhe mag ist hier absolut richtig!! Wir kommen gerne wieder. Großer Dank an Lerryn und Mark! Svenja & Stefan

Ideal para descansar
Foi uma experiência maravilhosa. Procurávamos o local ideal para descansar, num local sossegado, mas com todas as comodidades. A casa estava completamente preparada para receber a nossa família. Apreciamos o facto de terem todos os apetrechos necessários para fazer churrasco (incluindo carvão e pinhas), detergentes para a loiça e roupa (o que ajuda para grandes estadias ou para quem não viaja de carro), a existência de toalhas de praia, insufláveis e várias espreguiçadeiras junto da piscina. A casa era acolhedora, muito limpa e cuidada, com tudo para o nosso conforto. O nosso anfitrião (Mark) todos os dias de manhã bem cedo limpava a piscina e cuidava do espaço exterior. Sabendo que tínhamos uma criança pequena foram colocando novos brinquedos no jardim, como o cavalinho de baloiço e um jogo de argola. Recomendamos e esperamos lá voltar com amigos, pois a casa comporta bem 2 casais com filhos ou até 3 casais. Um muito obrigada à Lerryn e ao Mark.

Lovely house!
We had a very pleasant stay at Casa Lerryn. Nice house, good kitchen, outside the house several spots to sit in the sun of shadow, very spacious outside bbq/dinner area. A very nice swimming pool. The house is situated in a quiet natural area , but nearby the village.

A place to go again
Peace and quiet. A very nice place to rest and have fun in the pool... kids love it! Its not far from Serta, 5 min by car. Althought its in the middle of nature, between woods and some olive trees fields. Mark and Lerryn are always around, without you noticed them. Certainly a place to return.

Just perfect!
We had an absolutely amazing time at Lerryn's house! Wonderful from start to finish. Excellent property, superbly located. Beautigil swimming pool and gardens. Barbeque at outdoors with amazing space and landscapes. Excellent for families, super safe and quiet. Mark and Lerryn were wonderful hosts, always available to help. House was spotlessly clean and has everything you need for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Couldn't recommend it more!

Entspannung pur mit Abwechslung
Nach 3 Tagen Porto (unbedingt besuchen) trafen wir im Hügelland auf schönes Haus in landestypischem Stil auf einem grosszügigen Grundstück im Grünen. Das Haus ist erst 4 Jahre alt und alles ist gut in Ordnung. Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig. Unsere Gastgeber sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit und sorgen bestens für eine angenehme und gepflegte Atmosphäre. Wir hatten zu zweit viel Platz, mehrere schöne Sitzplätze in Sonne oder Schatten zur Wahl. Auch zu viert prima bewohnbar, zusätzlicher Schlafplatz für Kind. Toll war ein Bad mit grosser Dusche, Wanne und WC, ein zusätzliches WC mit Minidusche. Super das Schwimmbad, das wir wirklich nur für uns hatten. Serta ist prima Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge, z. B. Tomar, Coimbra, an die Küste (Nazare u. a. Strände super lang, tolle Küste). Serta ist ein nettes Städtchen mit zwei grossen Supermärkten samt Elektronik, mehreren Restaurants, Essen überall sehr lecker und abwechslungsreich und ein überragendes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Auto für dieses Haus unbedingt erforderlich. Insgesamt ein wunderbarer, erholsamer Urlaub (17 Tage) mit etwas Kultur, manchen Autoausflügen und viel Natur. Es war im September noch sehr warm, so dass wir die vielen Wandermöglichkeiten, Kanuangebote u. a. Nicht genutzt haben. Beliebt ist die Gegend bei Portugiesen, die auch gern die vielen Strände an den Flüssen nutzen. Mit einigermassen Englisch kommt man gut klar. Mit Lerryn und Mark ging's natürlich auch auf Englisch bestens. Vielen Dank euch beiden, Lerryn und Mark für die schöne Zeit, die wir gerne wiederholen wollen. Cathrin und Ewald

Casa Lerryn in Serta, recommended
If you want a quiet holiday in Beiras Portugal, in a beautifully maintained house with domain, then you should definitely visit Lerryn and Mark in the Casa Lerryn. You will find a characteristic, well-kept house with all amenities, with enough shade terraces and a beautiful swimming pool, surrounded by forest en meadow. The house is cool enough at night for a satisfying sleep. Nature lovers can spot an amazing number of bird species from there. The nearby town of Serta is picturesque and offers you many good restaurants and bars. And last but not least, Lerryn and Mark always stand by with good hints about everything in the area and they answer all your questions.

Wunderschönes, sehr gepflegtes Häuschen in einer sehr schönen Umgebung! Lerryn und Mark, unsere Gastgeber, sind unglaublich freundlich und geben gerne Tipps zu Ausflügen in der Umgebung. Wir haben unsere Woche dort sehr genossen und werden gerne wieder kommen!

Nós ficamos satisfeitos por hospedar a família Pereira, foi adorável ouvir seu garotão curtindo a piscina, muita risada! A casa ficou limpa e arrumada, muito apreciada. Esperamos ver Celeste e a família novamente. We were pleased to host the Pereira family,it was lovely to hear their little boy enjoying the pool,lots of laughter! Wonderful Short Stay at Sertã
Had a wonderful time at Casa Lerryn. The place is exactly like the pictures, so peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxation. The house is beautiful and well furnished and the pool is perfect for the kids. Sertã is a charming village, only a few kms away with very good restaurants at affordable prices. Mark and Lerryn are wonderful,very friendly, hosts. We will surely return!
