Great spot- fun yard games. Only trouble was internet and she was attentive and it’s getting fixed for future stays! Kitchen had all you needed! Beautiful full moon and sunrise location!

Shell Lake is always the best
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. We always appreciate a dog friendly property and boy did the dogs have fun! The road around the lake is great for walking and we enjoyed all the yard games too. The kitchen, linens, etc were all well-stocked, and the beds were comfortable. It was nice to have laundry as well. I didn’t need to communicate with the host as everything was as it should be and check in was easy.

Cute little cabin
The cabin was clean and had a well stocked kitchen with cooking utensils and accessories which made cooking easy. We enjoyed the games and the bin of beach toys which was a huge plus for us with little kids. Check in was very easy and Kate was very responsive to messages and answering our questions. Overall 5 stars, everything was as pictured except for the beach which was somewhat overgrown.

This cabin was so clean, well kept and very comfortable. It is well stocked with kitchen supplies, paper products, and towels. It was so pleasant not to have to pack all those additional items. The property was wonderful was so peaceful and had a beautiful view of the lake. The lake, however, was so reedy that we were not able to go in the water. That was a bit disappointing.

Relaxing lake front getaway
We spent 3 nights at Kate’s cabin. My husband, 5 year old and myself. The cabin is great, it has everything you coukd need, well stocked kitchen, lots of pillows, blankets, towels. We had some rain move through a couple of times so it was nice to have a smart tv, dvds and games in the cabin. The yard is huge and level making it perfect for yard games. The small little beach area was shallow/sandy and worked nice for our 5 year old, kind of weedy as you get further out but still good for floating the day away in tubes/kayaks. Our kiddo had a blast chasing after all of the little fish by the dock. We enjoyed our stay, we didn’t have to touch base with Kate other than at check-out which is a testament to how well she runs her rental! Check-in was a breeze. We would love to come stay again some time in the future.

Fantastic private fishing gem
A comfortable, clean, and private space. The lake access was the bonus of this rental. Shell Lake was peaceful and offered lots of great fishing. My teens were in a battle for most fish. The town was close with lots of eating options. Swimming was best at the public beach less than 2 miles away. The rental also had paddle boards, volleyball net, disc golf, and horseshoes. The family also enjoyed the indoor games. We highly recommend this place.

Up North Get away
Had a great weekend staying at this cabin in Shell Lake!! We were in the area to cheer our son on at the 49th annual Berkie cross country ski race! Cabin is comfortable, well stocked and clean. Have visited 2x both in the winter, beautiful sunrise over the lake! I bet Lake views in the summer months are awesome!

My husband and I rented this cabin for a short ice fishing trip. It was in a great location for where we wanted to be on the lake. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The mud room was very convenient for our ice fishing clothes. We had a trailer with a 4-wheeler on it so the large parking area that was plowed was really nice to have. Also being right next to the public boat landing was great for getting the 4-wheeler out in the lake. The cabin is decorated with puzzles that have been completed by the family o er the years. I really loved seeing that.

Wonderful Lake House that is wheelchair accessible!!
We had a wonderful vacation even though halfway through our stay we lost Wifi and TV. Kate responded very fast and tried everything she could to get it fixed for us but they couldn't send out a technician to fix the issue until after our stay was over. Kate was kind enough to give us a partial refund for the inconvenience of not having internet or TV. But the house has everything you need and we brought some movies and luckily they had a DVD player. Games and puzzles, fishing. We had a wonderful time!! It was so wonderful to stay at a place that had no stairs since I'm in a wheelchair and could easily maneuver through the house and outside. Will definitely come back!! Kate was a wonderful host!!

Wonderful cabin vacation for all ages!
Wonderful stay and perfect for all ages! We loved the flat yard and access to lake. Really thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable. Such a great location too! We also really appreciated being able to take our dog who is a part of our family.

Excellent for family
We had such a great time at this cabin. We have three kids (7, 5 and 2) and it was a wonderful setup. The kids loved the bunk beds. Love the open concept and space to hang out inside when we were eating/relaxing. The smart tv and Wi-Fi were nice for us as parents so kids could still watch cartoons and such when we needed them to take a break. The beach area and shallow water was awesome for our young kids. My oldest loved the fishing right off the doc! There is also a ton of privacy on the lot. Super quiet, lots of wildlife and very nice setting. Only 5 mins into town for ice cream and the public beach and park. Only 2 min from Potters Shed for coffee. We’ve already booked for next year. Thanks Kate!

Family get away
We had a wonderful family get away! Our pup had a great time swimming in the lake and running around the big yard! House was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Wish the fishing had been better, but the weather wasn’t great for it. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Lakeside Retreat
Our out of state son was flying in with buddies to ski the Birkie. This cabin’s location allowed us to cheer him as he started, cheer mid point, return to the cabin to let our dog out and be at the finish in Hayward to see him!! Well stocked clean cabin with everything we needed. Sunrises over the lake we’re absolutely stunning!!

White Wonderland Christmas Stay!
We really enjoyed our Christmas vacation stay at this property! It was very clean and well stocked for us and our children. It is an ideal location. It is just enough by itself to be private and yet has plenty for shopping close by or for eating out! We definitely will stay here again!

The Perfect Place to Get Away
The cabin was well maintained and had lots of games and activities to keep us busy. We took a few nice paddles around the lake and caught some bass and northerners. We also saw several bald eagles which was pretty neat. The fall colors were excellent as well! Overall a great trip!

Good pan fishing getaway
We had a very nice time at this cottage. Nice grounds with a large flat grassy yard and a pier to fish from in Shell Lake. We caught some very nice sunfish and released them. Very comfortable beds. Nice clean place. The air smells so nice with the autumn scents and the night sky was great. Saw a couple shooting stars. Neighbors are all very friendly. We took a couple of day trips to Hayward and the Apostle Islands. Very nice peaceful time.

Fabulous Fall Getaway
Wonderful getaway for two couples, it was Great. This cabin had it all for us. From a fully stocked kitchen to a near perfect outdoor area. With a special view of the lake and great access to the water a sandy beach and some water toys. along with all the outdoor games you could play, A great fire pit area also! Kate also gave us all the local info and some great highlights we did not know. She was very easy to communicate with. So Thank you Kate for sharing your cabin we will be back!!~

Perfect little lake house
Every detail of the little lake house is so well planned out. There is a hook to hang everything, a bench everywhere you want one, every dish or utensil we wanted to use, an outdoor chair everywhere you want to sit, and a very clever outdoor heater shower. The lot is just perfect. There is privacy with nice lawn and beach. We loved using the paddle boats and being able to dock our rental pontoon on the dock. The only problem is that too many people know about this great place now and it is fully booked for next summer already.

A Gem on Shell Lake
What can I say that hasn’t already been said?! Our family enjoyed our stay and had perfect weather for playing on the lake with the kayaks and paddleboards for hours at a time. It was peaceful. Quiet. Relaxing. We saw eagles, cranes, loons, deer, crazy chipmunks, and fish swimming right off the dock. I didn’t want to leave. The cabin had everything you could ever need (including a fully stocked kitchen and washer/dryer) and more. It was clean, well kept, and felt spacious for our family of 4. Beds were very comfortable. There’s also a grill, fire pit, and a small, sandy beach. The kids were leery of swimming off the end of the dock due to the seaweed, so we did spend a few hours at the large, sandy beach in town. If you're stuck indoors, there’s a good selection of games. From the beginning, communication with Kate was phenomenal. She answered questions quickly, and was gracious enough to let us check-in early. We greatly appreciated the convenience of being able to stay less than a week. We realize it's more work for the owners, but it's a great option for families who can only get away for a few days at a time during the summer. Please don't stop offering shorter stays. Check-in was also a breeze. We’ll be back next year. Thank you so much for sharing your slice of heaven with us, Kate!!

You will love this Cabin!!!
What a wonderful place this is! The cabin is so spacious with very comfortable furniture and is stocked with absolutely everything you could ever need. Located on a very private lot with excellent access to the lake which has such clear water and plenty of room for water sports. Our boys absolutely loved taking the Kayaks out in the early morning to do some fishing. We brought our boat and it worked out perfectly. We felt so relaxed in this wonderful lake home. Kate was so easy to deal with. We highly recommend booking this amazing property!

What a great place for a little R&R. This cabin has everything you need and if you forgot to pack something, town is only a few minutes away. Nice little beach for swimming and we caught plenty of fish from the dock. Overall just a nice stress free place.

Great property
This was such a perfect little cabin in a perfect location. Our son and dog enjoyed the shallow walk-in access to the water which was mostly clean other than some debris that I assume washes away with storms. Large yard was also great for dog and child to zip around in and there is a great view of the water from the house windows in case you need to go inside but still want to be able to see your kid or dog in the water. Easy walk or drive to ice cream, public beach, playground and other amenities. We appreciated having a grill and not needing to pack dishes since the kitchen was fully stocked. Very clear instructions and communication from the host. Good WiFi in the cabin and strong cell reception outside. Easy and enjoyable experience. Would recommend especially for anyone with kids and a dog.

The property was perfect for our couples weekend away from the city. The yard games provided hours of outdoor entertainment. The property is in a great quiet location. We especially enjoyed all the fall colors for our morning walks. Everything we needed was already there which made meal times easy. The beds were incredibly comfortable! Great location and amenities!
My wife and I stayed here with my parents and our kids (2 and 5). I really like that everything is accessible, it's a one-story cabin and there is barely any slope going to the beach and lakefront. This was a plus for both kids and grandparents to not have to navigate any steep slopes or stairs. The cabin is well-stocked with tons of cooking accessories, which we loved since we like to cook. The open kitchen/dining/living space is great, and it was nice to have bedrooms with bunk beds so the kids could have their own space, but we could still keep track of them (although we didn't let the 2-year-old sleep up there just because he rolls a lot!). We lucked out on the weather and didn't spend too much time indoors, but there were plenty of games available to play along with some kind of video game system and TVs hooked up to streaming services. The wifi was great since we were doing virtual Kindergarten every morning for a couple of hours! The outdoor space is pretty amazing. I did not realize how large the yard was from the photos, but there was plenty of room for the kids to run around and we even raked some leaves into a pile for them to jump in. They had a blast. The dock is nice and my 5yo learned how to fish with a hook for the first time on this trip. We mostly caught sunfish, but we were just using worms and bobbers. The water is also really shallow, which is great for the kids. It's a pretty easy walk into town, maybe 2.5 miles? A bike ride would be super quick. If it weren't for COVID and the fact that we were there after the summer season, we probably would have walked into town more often. Also super cool that there's an airport, the kids loved that. Overall, we would definitely recommend this cabin and would stay here again. Kate was incredibly quick with responses to questions leading up to and during our stay. We really appreciate the hospitality and the coziness of the rental, felt like a home away from home!

Summer Getaway

Wonderful Cabin for a Family
The property and cabin were perfect for our family. It was very welcoming and well kept. We had poor weather the whole time of our stay, so ended up spending more time in the cabin then planned, but it was still spacious enough so that our young children did not go crazy. The kitchen is also fully stocked with cooking utensils etc that made planning food for the trip a breeze!

Family get away
Our family of five escaped to the lake. Spent 5 days at this property and the family enjoyed some much needed down time. The space was adequate for our group. The lake area was nice, and our kids enjoyed swimming and use of paddle board, kayak and paddle boat. Items were a little dirty, but that is to be expected because they are stored outside. The only down fall was the rack for access of these items was tucked back and access to it could be improved. Communication with the owner was great, and Kate was helpful in recommending services and boat rental in the area. Thanks for a good stay for our family.

Perfect family getaway!
We had such a great time in Shell Lake! The kids enjoyed fishing from the dock and paddle boat. The beautiful yard provides ya with hours of relaxing and playing! The house had everything we needed and is very well kept. Kate was great and was very responsive whenever we had any questions. We hope to visit Shell Lake again!
