Excellent Family getaway

The cabin is amazing! Perfect place for our family of 6. We loved the 360 porch on the second level for watching sunsets and rises the fire pit area was great to stay out late and watch stars. I loved walking down to the lake early in the morning to observe the swan swimming and otters playing. We spent time in Bemidji at the state parks and the cabin was a great place to come back to cook great meals and relax after a day of hiking and exploring. Annie was an excellent host and did everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Beautiful and peaceful

There is nothing about this place that isn’t absolutely beautiful in every way. The home was unique and so comfortable, decorated and finished with such care. The location, so remote and quiet. The 360°views from the upstairs deck, numerous windows or just walking around the carefully landscaped yard were amazingly beautiful! Cell reception and internet were just enough to keep up on things. It was good to get away from the distraction of technology. Our host Annie was on the spot to help us get a little internet service to watch the news. I wish we could have stayed longer to take a few walks down the trails and to explore the area. I’m coming back for sure. This is the perfect place to relax, reflect, and appreciate the wonderful world and country God created.

Wonderful in every way

The place was beautiful! It has lots of windows and lovely views in every direction, and it's full of different comfortable places to sit and read. The kitchen has just about everything you might need, down to cheese graters and a double boiler. On the top floor, the wraparound deck is even nicer than it looks in the pictures. It was the perfect place to stay while visiting Lake Itasca State Park. Annie answered all our questions before we got there (and saved us half an hour by warning us that a county road was under construction and telling us how to go around), and even though we didn't need anything after we arrived, it was clear that help with anything large or small was only a call away. I recommend this place to anyone and hope to have the chance to go back someday!

Clean and unique

We had a two night stay at this beautiful property. The home was clean and unique in design. Three story building with a wrap around deck on the top floor. It’s on a quiet area with an RV camp ground across the pond. Walk paths all around to explore and take adventures. It’s within 25 mins of bemidji and itasca state park. Both great places to explore. Overall I had a great time with my family and we got to explore a lot of northern Minnesota. Owner was great with communication and even called after our stay to check up and thanked us for the staying . Would love to come back in the summer season when weather is much nicer.

Cool Cabin!

My wife, I and my parents spent two relaxing nights at this really cool cabin located away from everything. The place is modern and updated without losing that cabin feel. Kitchen has most everything needed as my wife cooked us a great dinner on one of the nights. Bemidji is about thirty minutes away if you want someone else to do the cooking. No wifi, no satellite or cable tv (there is a wide variety of dvds) just a great view out the windows. Weather didn't allow for any star-gazing, but the fireflies certainly put on a show! Finally, Annie makes herself available if you need anything and she has all kinds of recommendations.

Great Space for Relaxing

My wife and I truly enjoyed the serenity of the property. A couple mornings, we took a canoe trip around the lake, enjoying the ducks, turtles, heron and even spotted a beaver. With the headwaters just 20 minutes right down the road, it is very convenient to head down to hike and bike at Itasca State Park. We also enjoyed biking around Lake Bemidji and hiking in Lake Bemidji State Park. Our most enjoyable time was relaxing on the wrap around deck. We ate breakfast and dinner out out on the deck most days and enjoyed quiet time reading, as well. The patio with the grill and fire pit was also a great plus. Everything we needed was provided for us. The kitchen was supplied with all the utensils that we needed and we cooked most of our meals onsite. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and well supplied. The couple of times we asked about something, we got a response fairly quickly. The only negative, but also can be a positive, is the cell reception is very spotty, but great if you really want to disconnect. We definitely hope to return in the future.
