"We had a wonderful stay at Hakone Kowakien Ten-yu. It was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Japan. The hotel is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. Our room was very comfortable, and having a private open-air bath on the balcony made the experience even more special. The views and relaxing atmosphere were exactly what we were looking for in Hakone. The staff were extremely polite and attentive, and everything was very clean and well organized. The food was excellent, and the overall atmosphere gave us a great opportunity to enjoy a more traditional Japanese experience while still having all the comforts of a luxury hotel. I would definitely recommend Ten-yu to anyone visiting Hakone. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a different side of Japan."

"I always stay at this hotel before or after a long flight from Haneda Airport. It's reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area. It's huge, so expect a long queue at check-in."

"We had a modern compact but well-equipped air-conditioned room that even had a Nespresso Essenza Mini coffee machine. However, some of the rooms might be unsuitable if you suffer from serious claustrophobia. Conveniently located next to a FamilyMart convenience store, with a 7-11 across the road near the elevated Ōmorikaigan train station. There is a 24-hour laundry just down the road that takes 100 yen coins (but the change machine currently only takes old 1000 yen notes). Hotel staff were very polite, friendly and helpful and had a good command of English. Only 25 minutes or so to nearby Haneda Airport by taxi. If you have an iPhone, would recommend downloading the Suica travel card via Apple Wallet. In addition to public transport, the card is widely accepted for payments in many stores/ vending machines. The GO app seems to be Uber equivalent in Tokyo, though Uber still works fine. If you feel like some Western food, there’s a Royal Host restaurant across the road around a 10-minute walk from the hotel."

"We had an excellent stay here. The staff was extremely helpful and very gracious. The room amenities were more than I expected. I loved that they have an easy bag check. We saw there was a 7-11 downstairs and went down late at night for food and bought Ramen bowls to make in the room since there was a kettle. Let me tell you, the 7-11 in Japan is incredible for many food choices The gardens are beautiful but bring bug spray! The staff recommended a close restaurant for Ramen and it was excellent. It's called Noodle Dining Takanawa. Not fancy in any way but very good. Thank you"

"Clean hotel, appreciated the staff! They come in and change the towels everyday plus leave you some water and deep clean every 3 days as well ! Nice room with AC and overall just a good vibe in the hotel from entrance! Area is quiet, you are nearby shinjuku station, downtown shinjuku is about a 20-25 minute walk. There’s a few small 711 nearby and family mart! The room was a good size it was two of us, so the luggage fit right in the corner."
