"A great hotel, nice big rooms. Took us a day to discover there was a shuttle bus to and from Otsu Station, but when utilised it was easier, as it's a 20 minute walk to Zeze Station (closest JR station). Was disappointed to hear there was no laundry facility for guests."

"Resort itself is clean and comfortable, the in room onsen is excellent and can change temperature to your liking. There are free drinks and alcohol included. The dinner is excellent and service is great. "

"I’ve been to many capsules across Japan and my stay here was at the too. Yes, I’ve stayed in Kyoto, Osaka, but wanted to spend a few days in Ōtsu and experience a slower pace and so glad I did! The reviews on Google and Orbitz rated The Calendar high so I gave it a try and I was not disappointed. However, I do need to mention if you are sensitive to smell you might notice the slight scent of smoke. The entire capsule is non-smoking, however there is a smoking room, that when smokers return it...

"It was super noisy. But, thankfully the staff quickly moved us to another room which was a bit better - and it was "Hikonyan" themed, which was kinda hilarious. Super convenient location, which was what mattered most for us. And really good value. Oh, and try to Hikone beers they have - best beer in Japan. "
