"I had a really lovely four night stay at Shanghai Mansion on the Bund. It’s a fabulous property with a great atmosphere, and the rooms are extremely comfortable and well put together. The staff were excellent throughout, genuinely friendly and always helpful, which made a big difference to the overall experience.
The location is absolutely phenomenal. You’re right on the Bund, and the classic Shanghai skyline looking across to Pudong is literally right outside the door. It’s hard to beat and makes the whole stay feel a bit special.
One of the highlights was the breakfast. It’s very high quality, with a wide and varied selection that changes daily, so it never feels repetitive. It was something I actually looked forward to each morning.
There are just a couple of small things worth noting. The beds are very firm, even for someone like me who normally prefers a firmer mattress, so that may not suit everyone. Also, the air conditioning didn’t seem to be working properly during my stay. It wasn’t a major issue given the cooler weather, but it could matter more at a different time of year.
Overall, though, a wonderful stay and I’d happily return."
