We were a bit concerned about the weather forecast as rain was predicted, but luckily, it cleared up on the day of our stay and we enjoyed perfect conditions. "We expected more…. The place is run down with a strange old smell. Our room was just ok, but the view made up for it. The coin laundry did not work at all and it ate up all our coins. The food was the worst we experience in Japan, which is a terrible thing to say since we have never experienced bad food in Japan. We are very sorry to have to write this review, but we need to be honest since it was not a cheap reservation."

"The room was spacious & elegantly furnished. The personal onsen was such a treat. Amenities were excellent. My only criticism was the fact that the towels were thin & the pillows small & hard but I do understand that’s my own personal preference. A small negative to a wonderful stay. The staff couldn’t have been more polite, friendly & helpful. They are the true asset for this establishment. We opted for half board. The food was beautifully presented, extremely generous & delicious. The actual site was cosy, nestled in a small village, in a valley surrounded by mountains. Such a peaceful retreat - a balm to one’s spirit. "
