“Definitely will come back A+++ . Hot tub was perfect but definitely needs a umbrella for day time soaks. Shawnee is a beautiful place to relax with Nature.”

“We had such an awesome stay at the Shawnee Apple Shack. It was so cute, clean, and had everything that we needed! There was plenty to do in the Southern Illinois area for the weekend. We definitely recommend staying there and would love to come back sometime!”

“The unit was more than I expected. The cabin was furnished with comfortable seating indoors, a full kitchen, TV, comfortable bed, clean bathroom with a hot shower, and more. I will definitely be booking this place again for another getaway.”

“Pros: quiet little cabin, tucked just inside from a street. Clean & cozy. Cons 1. Mattress: It was too soft & saggy in the middle. Another reviewer mentioned this too. I wasn't able to get a restful night's sleep. Either my knees or neck would be sore in the mornings 2. Not enough brightness / lights: The interior feels dark - with an okay ceiling light, where 1-2 if the bulbs would slowly go dim as tine went on. Kitchen light was brigther.”

“Lovely spot to kayak with our dogs, unplug, and just relax.”

“Very nice place! The towels smelled amazing! Cute decor!”

“This is an amazing place for a couple or small family to have a first or even small get away or vacation”

“Clean and comfortable”

“Everything was great! We will definitely be returning.”

“Very clean and so cute! Our host responded quickly. It was very peaceful. Just what we were looking for. We would recommend to others.”

“Allison was very quick at responding if anything popped up during our stay. She was efficient and effective with her communication. The pond was AMAZING and our dog Raven had an absolute blast! Thank you for allowing your space to host dogs as well so we could have this great weekend with our family!”

“Clean room, stocked with useful supplies, comfortable, and oet friendly”

“Wonderful little cabin to get away from everything and just relax. Loved the screened in back porch. We were able to sit outside while it was raining and enjoy our breakfast. Dead end road so very minimal traffic.”

“It is a very peaceful environment. Walking the property offers opportunities for quiet reflection , as does simply sitting on the porch overlooking the river.”

“This property is great!! The house is clean and the host has thought of everything you might need. Very few rentals on the lake will provide coffee and creamer and pretty much any seasoning you can think of. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, utensils and even a crockpot. Allison responded right away when I messaged her. They have a great dog, Kevin, who visits the guests and takes a dip in the pond. Unfortunately we have very hyper dogs and one is not always receptive to other dogs so……

“High quality room, with farm privacy and atmosphere. We would recommend it and stay there again. Only one thing: The ladder to the loft bedroom is quite steep. My wife struggled a bit with it. But then, she is in her late 60's. Nevertheless, a good place that we will recommend. A/C worked well, and was needed. Room very clean. We hardly saw staff, which was fine, as we enjoyed our privacy.”

“The Blonde is very well kept, the host is very communacative, friendly, and helpful. We enjoyed our stay!”

“We’ve been here quite a few times. The only place we will stay in the area. It has everything and is a great place to stay no matter what you want to do.”
