No VIP perks provided despite being a gold member.
And despite having paid (significantly) extra for the “skyline benefits” we were banned from using both the exclusive Rooftop Swimming Pool and the Skyline 24/7 workout facilities for the entire duration of our stay due to a “private event”. This was just completely unacceptable. For two of the three Skyline facilities to out of use, and without having been told beforehand, was very poor.
The rooms were lovely. We had booked Skyline suites.
The club lounge itself is quite small, but the staff are lovely and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was to much trouble. The food overall in the lounge was very disappointing. Given that we were surrounded by some amazing (and cheap) food, there is no excuse for serving anything this bad.
The wine and drinks in the evening are nice, particularly given the cost of alcohol in Singapore. The selection is quite small, for example just one red and one white wine. It would have been nice have a small selection.
However, my main issue with the lounge is that it lacks any atmosphere. There is no music, just a hotel promotional video looping on a telly every 2 minutes which becomes slightly painful, not least because it shows photos of stunning stunning food platters and cheese boards in the lounge which, I assure you, were nowhere to be seem.
The main pool was lovely. Really big and a great temperature. Just a word of warning that you are required to wear face mask by the pool.
