I was traveling through, caught in dense fog and scanned experida.com for a motel close by Sioux Falls. I saw there were two Days Inn, one by airport and the other in town. Read the reviews and seemed like a great place. I called and talked to the person who picked up and asked about the place explaining I was moving across country and had my truck packed, would it be safe. Yes I was told, very safe. The online option gave me a few dollars better price and I reserved there. When I arrived the sign said "newly remodeled" That gave caution, as was the location on two busy highways. The assistant at the desk was nice, and said she couldn't guarantee my truck and things would be ok, but the back lot was a good option. When arrived into Room 213, the window unit was on. Bad damp smell, it was set on 73 cool. Since it was cold outside I turned to heat and 70. I immediately got an electrical and burned smell. chalking that up to an old unit, I opened the window and informed them in the morning. The place looks like a well worn building with a new paint job. A dead bug in the sheets, likely this room or the linens stored for a while. Entry light did not work. I slept, shower worked fine, and left. Didn't try anything out in room. The breakfast was anything yellow. Asked if they had oatmeal, she said no we have hot chocolate. hmmm. Fruit? greens? something healthy would be nice. overall its a 2 for a 2 star hotel. Still grateful for the place to stop of the night.
