Hawks Beard home

The home had a nice updated kitchen and nice layout for our family and another family to be comfortable. The house did not have a lot of towels available for 7 of us, but there was laundry available so we ended up just doing a few loads of towels to keep up with showers, hot tub, and pool outings. Would stay again and just bring beach towels with. Had a fun stay!

Perfect house for a larger group

Comfortable arrangement of bedrooms and bathrooms. The home felt roomy with plenty of places to be together as a group or have some time alone. Beautiful brand new back deck. Great for BBQing and relaxing. Hot tub fit alot of people. Location was quiet and tranquil. Views of the golf course. Great place to stay.

Family Fun

Very comfortable and great space for our family of ten. Kitchen is fully stocked, ample towels for all uses, huge deck and quiet neighborhood. We had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back!

Nice surface level update on this home. Well equipped with everything we needed. Vacasa customer service was excellent in communication and making sure our stay was great. Only downside was there are no en suite bathrooms and no real main bedroom.

Great property. Well maintained. Large deck for a family but needs maintenance. Boards are loose and make a lot of noise. Overall-- We had a wonderful family vacation at this house. Would recommend it.

Off Season Getaway

Long time lover of BBR, first time staying at this house. Great location and good proximity to the horse pastures, Paulina Pool, Lakeside, Lodge, etc. This house is bigger than it looks on the outside. Updated living room, kitchen, and hot tub were awesome. Loved having so many bathrooms and bedrooms. Very quiet home perfect for relaxation and quality time with friends. Only request would be to add bikes to this property. If you haven’t been to BBR, it’s best explored by bike. Most rental houses have bikes here. You can rent them from Glaze Meadow but it’s more convenient if they are on site at the house. I don’t believe we had access to the garage and that would have been great so that we could store our bikes we brought and racks, etc. Otherwise it was perfect!

Just as advertised.

Great kitchen and living room, enjoyed having fires and socializing in that space. Bedrooms were comfortable and totally adequate. It’s not a luxury rental but great for the price. My only real complaint is with Vacasa, we were really hoping for an early check in and their follow through / attempt to accommodate us on that request was lackluster, and it’s kind of annoying they only leave you with a handful of laundry / dishwasher detergent pods and dryer sheets, etc.

Location is far from amenities. Deck is facing lots of neighbors so little privacy. Upstairs tub is clogged. Beds and pillows uncomfortable for all parties. Living room space is pretty cozy but the whole house feels outdated. If needing a basic house for dogs this could work.

Vacasa service needs improvement

Black Butte is still amazing. This house was okay but house and hot tub were very dirty upon arrival and little put away upon our arrival. Be aware there is no A/C and there are window screens missing so it's difficult to cool down house without populating it with hundreds of bugs. Deck could be a great thing but there are zero shade umbrellas/awnings or privacy screening (opens to 4-5 houses looking directly at you) and it's stocked with metal outdoor furniture that bakes in the hot sun, which makes it unusable for most of the day. This house needs a little attention and love and then it could be much improved.

NO internet for one and a half day!!

I rented this place for 2 nights, and I got no internet for one and a half day!! Vacasa never answer my calls, always make you leave a message and never call you back until next day!!

House smelled like mold ((

This will be my first bad review. When we arrived around 5pm to check in for our Memorial Day weekend stay, the house smelled like mold. The smell was really bad in one of the downstairs bathrooms , the laundry room and the nearby bedroom. I spent 3 hours on the phone with Vacasa, and all they could offer was to send someone for a cleaning the next morning. We could not use the downstairs bedroom and bathroom. Despite promises, no one showed up to clean in the morning. I continued to text and call Vacasa, and finally at 4:00 pm the cleaners came and cleaned the affected areas. It took several hours of ventilating before the smell finally subsided enough for us to use these rooms. A few words about the house itself: the house is smaller than it looks in photos on Vacasa site, there are some updates like new kitchen appliances, but some areas are old and some parts are just ancient. The locks in some bathrooms do not work.

The house large enough to sleep 8-10 people, and it's directly on Hawks Beard so getting to the pools + lodge is easy. The rest of the house is NOT really large enough for 8-10 people to actually eat or stay there together. There's no AC, which may be a problem if you're visiting during the summer. The back deck is large and nice, but also stares directly at 3 other houses and Glacier Lilly. Overall, the location is nice, but there are better/nicer options at BBR if you're bringing a large family group.

Perfectly adequate with a few surprises

We picked this house because it looked to have a spacious living area and plenty of bedrooms so our extended family could enjoy time together. Warning--the pictures are a bit deceiving in that the living space is much smaller than it appears. The sectional was not enough seating for the four adults to relax comfortably, let alone the kids. When we arrived it was cold and because the house is heated with electric heaters in each room it took a good 24 hours to warm up adequately. That said, the hot tub was amazing, the kitchen and bathrooms were clean and functional, and the bunk/sitting room was a perfect hang-out space for the kids. Overall the house was clean, but there was a strong smell of mildew on the main floor from the washing machine, and an entire load of sheets was left in the dryer from the previous cleaning. A suggestion to the hosts for winter guests: it would be very nice to have a few logs by the fireplace ready to go, and a note that more wood is available outside. We did discover this after reading the guest book, but we couldn't find the wood pile in the dark and had to wait until morning. Meanwhile, the house was very chilly and drafty while the electric heaters did their slow work of warming the big spaces.

Don't judge a book by its cover

Nice floor plan with plenty of bathrooms and sleeping space for kids and adults. Steep stairs to bedrooms and Not much privacy from neighboring houses.
