Welcome to the historic ambience of Sophiendal Castle. Here you can enjoy a marvellous stay in a magnificent old manor house surrounded by the picturesque lake landscape north of Skanderborg. The house is stylishly furnished with furniture that perfectly matches the stately ambience of your accommodation. You can prepare delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchen and then enjoy them over an elegant dinner at the dining table. After an eventful day, the cosy living room with its comfortable sofa area invites you to relax.



Discover the beautiful surroundings of the castle on a walk through the varied nature. A trip to Silkeborg offers you the opportunity to explore the lake landscape, or you can pack a picnic basket and take a tour through the surrounding forests. The property is tired and cries for refurbishing. Door hardware and locks rattle in their mounts. Windows haven't been cleaned in ages. Bathroom sink has a perpetual leak with water pooling on the bathroom floor. Underwear from a previous visitor left in the armoir.Basic items like paper towels and tissue not supplied. Breakfast offering was scant with no servers to check on guests.
