"The room was not as I expected it. It was on the second floor of what looked to be an out building. There were a few things we were not happy with eg the kettle had to be plugged in on the flour by the bed ( lead too short) but the worst was the shower. It ran cold. We told the reception and they just said they knew and had passed it on to maintenance before but had done nothing about it. Not even an apology. We had not ordered breakfast at the time of booking thinking we could add it later as it was only £15 extra but when we arrived it was double that to add it. So we waited until breakfast to decide. In the morning at breakfast when we saw what was on offer it was so bad we left again without bothering. Instead we paid the same price in the swan hotel as a walk in- which was a magnificent breakfast. "

"Restaurant food was very nice and good value. Breakfast was excellent the hit options were all freshly cooked and good quality. The continental options were also good quality and varied. The room was a little tired and some or the corridor areas could do with a freshening up. All told a very nice overnight stay and will stay again when in the area. Thank you to the restaurant staff who were all very friendly and looked after their guests."

"I’d like to start off by saying the staff here, especially the manager and receptionist are exceptional, I cannot fault them in anyway, they went above and beyond to look after me, they get five stars. The down side is the hotel is very dated, it doesn’t look like the pictures, the gym is tired, the rooms and bathrooms especially and I didn’t have a good experience with the food. The manager sorted that though. My original room also was very damp smelling, but that was also resolved and I was able to move rooms. Unfortunately for me this wasn’t the relaxing spa evening I envisioned as a stopping point to my destination. I wouldn’t recommend and I won’t stay again. Best Western need to invest in this property, it isn’t the staffs fault, you have a very good team here and is a credit to your business, but you need to put money into the property and bring it up to date."
