Exceptional Home

This home did not feel like a rental - it felt like staying in the personal residence of people who care about the warmth, decor, cleanliness and comfort of their home. By far the best home rental I have experienced in my 30+ years of renting vacation homes. We loved everything about this home.

We love Sweet Retreat

The house is spacious, well appointed, has an amazing view, and there are fun things to do in the garage. The path to the beach is easily navigated and there are few people on the beach - even in the middle of summer busy season. Sunsets from the hot tub on the deck are highly recommended.

Magical

Sweet Retreat is amazing and we highly recommend it! It was incredibly clean and comfortable. The walk to the beach is easy. The beach was great. There were very few people and loads of shells and agates to find. You can't beat the view from Sweet Retreat. It's absolutely gorgeous. The clean hot tub was the perfect way to wind down in the evening. We cannot wait to stay again!

Sweet Retreat - Fantastic

Lovely property next to South Beach. Do you like having miles of beach virtually to yourself? Do you want to have the constant roar of the ocean as white noise sitting in a hot tub? Do you want to have a place which is well stocked and shows pride of ownership? Close to Newport, which also has a lot going for it. 10/10 would stay again.

Late Oct. Stay

Well maintained house and up to date appliances, bathrooms. Great location. Beach access is an easy and short walk. Beach was very private, only saw 2 people over hours on the beach. Of course it's late October and mid-week but I sense this is is a fairly private stretch of beach regardless. The house is up on a bluff so ocean views are expansive. Very relaxing.

Great beach house!

This house was perfect for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. If you have any mobility issues getting to the beach would be very difficult so keep that in mind but it was about a 5 minute hike for us. It was perfectly clean. Cell and wi-fi service were spotty but it didnt bother us at all. We saw hardly anyone on the beach so it was like having our own private beach. Not walkable to anywhere but less than a 15 minute drive into town. 5 out of 5 stars

Ideal location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is beautiful, very clean, and in a great location. Our only concern was the 80-degree temperature of the hot tub on our arrival. We booked this home as a short getaway after running the Eugene Marathon, and specifically because it had a hot tub. We were extremely disappointed we couldn’t soak in the hot tub when we arrived. Unfortunately, the rental manager did not respond to our concerns until after we checked out. Other than that, we enjoyed the views, beach access, and beautiful weather.

Beautiful ocean front getaway

We had a wonderful stay! The property is newly renovated and the kitchen and bathrooms were stunning. There is a no shoes property that we struggled with a bit going in and out the back door. The floor is warped in areas but it’s new wood or laminate probably on an old surface. The outdoors was beautiful as well with new table and chairs but some were zip tied to the deck so we couldn’t move them. There is no ac so it gets warm on sunny days in the afternoon. Downsides: glassware is mismatched and not enough for several people. We could only find one cutting board and the drawer arrangements don’t make a lot of sense. We were out of propane for the grill but they brought us some within two hours of contacting Vacasa. Also we had an issue with one of the smoke alarms which they fixed. The floor is a bit slippery in socks - especially the stairs. Also, we found aome fruit snacks in the crevice of one of the beds and the powder bath wasn’t mopped. The towels were cheap and small for adults. 10 am is a really early check out time.

Beautiful property as described

This is a beautiful home that is sitting on a bluff overlooking the ocean. There is access to the beach across the street; but it is a little tricky for someone who may have limited mobility. There is a BBQ on the awesome deck, but due to weather we weren’t able to take advantage of it. Restaurants are a short drive away. The only downfall that we would say is the beds are very firm. So that was an issue for our party of people. We stayed 3 nights and that was the max that my back could take. This is why we gave it four stars.

Enjoyed the incredible view, great hot tub and the layout of the house. There are several things that the owner needs to upgrade though-particularly considering the cost. Very poor glassware, beds are too firm, BBQ need replaced, screen doors are so rusted they are difficult to close. Overall it’s a beautiful home with a great deck looking right down on the ocean. It’s the second time we’ve been there but not sure if we’d return with the cost going much higher.

Great view and very clean

Nice property is nice. Thanks to the owners for puting it out there for rent. The proximity to Newport / Waldport is very handy. Just a few minutes to groceries or whatever you need. Also close to good fishing and crabbing. Very comfortable bed in the master bedroom.
