Relaxing getaway

Minnhaven was a wonderful, quiet lake getaway. The cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The lake was calm and peaceful.

MinnHaven is a perfect getaway

Thanks to Craig for a wonderful family getaway. The cabin had all the comforts of home. We can’t wait to get a summer weekend booked so we can enjoy the lake even more.

Excellent Property

Had a fantastic long weekend at this cabin. The description of the property was spot on. The cabin was very clean and organized. The fishing was fantastic and the views were beautiful. I will definitely be looking to stay here again.

A quiet, relaxing retreat!

Very private, quiet, nicely furnished cabin on a lovely setting! Beautiful lake and nice grounds. We loved the screened porch for sitting and reading. We would come back again!

A Little Bit Of Peace

We enjoyed Minnehaven, for the second time. Lake Louisa was wonderful to kayak. We caught many fish, right off the dock! We are hoping to get another weekend booked at this cabin.

Minnesota Cabin vacation

Wonderful cabin, beautiful view of the lake, very quiet. Cabin has a wonderful enclosed front porch. Games, binoculars, many dvds, too many tv channels, a private lake front with firepit and chairs. Excellent choice for a quiet vacation. We had a blast. The locals in Kimball are very nice also. 5 Stars

Wow! What a beautiful place

I can see why it's usually sold out. This place is beautiful!! We had a blast fishing, taking out the kayaks and canoe, grilling, having a fire in the pit, and enjoying the amazing view. I will be back!! It's just perfect.

Lovely get-away spot

There were a few issues; power to lamps on the porch plus a large tree fell down behind the cabin my 1st night. But Curt immediately took action to resolve. Very cozy, super comfortable bed, will definitely go back. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Lake Home

This was a great trip on a great property. Thank you Curt for all your help in getting this little vacation set up despite the pandemic. We loved fishing off the dock, where we caught dozens of fish. We also really enjoyed the screened in porch where we got to watch a variety of birds at the feeders and on the lake. It was very peaceful and we have recommended it to friends. Thank you again!

A Hidden Haven: Lakeside Cabin

My stay at Cabin 1, nestled on the shores of Lakes Louisa-Marie, was an exceptional retreat from the hustle and bustle. The cabin, shaded by trees, offered captivating lake views and utmost tranquility. Its location on a private road further enhanced the peaceful ambience. Our host, Curt, displayed in-depth knowledge of the area, which added a personal touch to our visit. His warm personality matched the inviting charm of the cabin itself. The highlight was certainly the excellent fishing off the dock. From bass to crappies, this lake was a fisherman’s dream. It wasn’t crowded like the larger, well-known lakes, making it feel like a secret spot reserved just for us. In summary, if you’re seeking a comfortable, nature-filled retreat with great fishing and a fantastic host, look no further than Cabin 1. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

VERY enjoyable mini-vacation!

Had a wonderful 4 days at Minn Haven this week! We had mostly GREAT weather, and enjoyed this cozy cabin. Our host, Curt, was around at times, and we had fun chatting with him. He ended our stay with an AWESOME boat ride around the area.......so fun. The cabin is "attached", as others have said, but we didn't find that to be a problem. Curt is very courteous and friendly, but doesn't interfere with your private times. The area is quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. The cabin is a bit rustic, but has many conveniences, such as Wifi and a great movie collection on those days when the weather doesn't cooperate. Fishing off the dock was fun, too! And my bf caught the first catfish that Curt had ever seen :) We explored the small towns nearby, too, and found fun, friendly people everywhere we went. All in all a great time! Highly recommend if you're looking for peace, quiet, beauty and fun.

Peaceful stay & great host

Very quiet and peaceful location. We did a lot of fishing and had some great catches including a 5 pound largemouth bass. Great Mexican restaurant in town that we actually ate at twice because the food was so good! Host was available if we needed anything and very flexible in allowing us to check in early and stay later than the original check out time.

Cozy Cabin Retreat

Very cozy cabin for two. We loved the screen room and spent most of our time there. Beautiful and quiet small lake with lots of wildlife. Would have loved going out in a boat, but recent hip injury prevented that. Kitchen, bathroom and bedroom were immaculate and well equipped but the living room upper windows need cleaning and some screen room furniture cushions need cleaning or replacement.

Awesome place for R&R

We had a lovely stay over the Labor Day weekend at Curt's place on the lake. Sunrises & sunsets were beautiful! Fishing was fun! The lake was beautiful & the grounds were very well kept as well as the inside of the cabin. Lovely antiques, nice touches throughout & everything we needed was there! Very comfortable! I cannot say enough nice things about our stay. Exactly what 2 nurses needed to get away from work & city life for a weekend. Thank you so much Curt!

Lovely and peaceful!

Everything was amazing! WiFi is a little weak but not terrible. Living room couch was a little uncomfortable but the recliner was where it's at. The screened in porch is heaven and we never wanted to leave it. An amazing kayak ride around the lake. Peaceful relaxing mornings on the lake. Would absolutely come back.

The lake was nice but the water did not look inviting. I think the lake needs to be replenished with minnows, sun fish and crappie's.

Comfortable and quiet

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. The place was comfortable and peaceful. There were times when it was absolutely silent! We loved the large screened in porch. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed was comfy. We ate at some restaurants in nearby Kimball: Son of A Butcher Bar & Grill and Triple R Grill and Bar. Both had excellent food.

Peaceful Getaway

Relaxation

The cabin is a lovely place to unwind and enjoy the lake. We fished, swam, listened to the owls, and hung out on the lovely screened in porch. It was the perfect way to spend 3 days, and I’d happily spend longer if time allowed. The cabin is not fancy, but it’s comfortable, clean, and perfect for summer days by the lake. Planning to return next summer if schedules allow!

Wonderful “Piece of Quiet” 😊

My plans for this weekend were ever changing and I thought about canceling. So happy that I decided to stay. When I saw the “Because Nice Matters” sign I knew I’d made the right decision ( I have the same exact sign in my own home). I have family living nearby and I was able to spend some quality time with them. A much needed retreat and relaxing time for me. Yes indeed, a Piece of Quiet😊. I’m looking forward to a return visit.

Fantastic Place to Stay

We had a wonderful vacation here. We didn't get to meet Curt, but he was quick to answer any questions we had. The property is beautiful and well maintained. I love the screened in porch. The swivel chairs on the porch are genius! And there's a nice table and chairs where we could eat and also work puzzles or play games. We caught lots of fish off the dock. Mostly sunnies, but a few large mouth bass. We hope to return soon!
