  • Summary:

    Tortuga Bay is a three-story bayfront townhome on SPI, one block from the beach - a walk-in beach-style pool, dedicated community boat dock with reserved boat slip suitable for shallow sport boats directly on the Laguna Madre bay, and private patios on all three floors for bay sunset views. Up to 10 guests are allowed across three self-contained levels. The south end location puts a full restaurant and bar strip within walking distance.



    The Space:

    The kitchen is fully equipped for home cooking to save you both time and money. Smart TVs are set up throughout the townhome — stream from your own apps; no cable is provided. We provide fresh, crisp linens, towels, and bedding on all standard beds. Bring your own bedding for the pull-out couches and the provided airbed and pump if you so desire.



    A full-sized washer and dryer are in the unit — while no detergent is provided, it is a nice amenity. Though beach gear is not included; chairs and umbrellas rent on the beach for about $45 per day with no advance booking needed.



    Five reasons to book:

    The community boat docks are among the rarest amenities on South Padre Island — flats, shallow sport, and dargal boats can tie up for your stay (while dedicated, understand may need high tide conditions). A semi public boat launch is about 300 yards away between Lobo del Mar and Longboards Bar for a fee



    The entire third floor is the master suite: King bed, massive frameless walk-in shower, dual sinks, a bay-view desk, and two easy chairs — a complete floor between the primary guest and the rest of the group, with a private patio above it all.



    The ground floor runs as its own zone: a Queen bedroom on one side and a back room with a wet bar, mini fridge, full-sized bunk beds, and a pull-out couch on the other — both open directly to the pool patio, with a shared full bath on the floor.



    The second floor is the gathering hub: open kitchen, half bath, dining table, bar seating with stools, and a living room that flows onto the bay-view patio — with a pull-out couch in the living room for sleeping flexibility.



    Nautico, Liam’s Steakhouse, Lobo del Mar, Longboards, Henrietta’s, Russo’s Italian, Johnny Rockets, Gabriella’s, #1 Yummies Cafe, and more are all within a short walk. CVS is nearly across the street for anything you forgot.



    SLEEPING (Up to 10 Guests)

    Ground floor: Queen bed in the first bedroom. Back room: bunk beds with full-sized mattresses on both levels — top bunk holds weight — and a full-sized pull-out couch (bring bedding). Second floor living room: pull-out couch (bring bedding). Third floor master: King bed. Please do note Infants and babies do count toward the 10-guest maximum.

    While we do allow up to 10, it is a bit more comfortable with slightly less.



    BOAT DOCK & WATER ACCESS

    The community docks sit right on the Laguna Madre and accommodate shallow-draft boats. High tide may be required for access. There is limited boat trailer parking available on site outside the gate - first come on that pre reserve with us as far in advance as possible - there is some free street parking along W. Polaris Drive but cannot be guaranteed. Inquire with questions



    PARKING

    One guaranteed reserved space in front of the unit, and generally ample guest parking available in the complex for up to 1 additional vehicle max. On the rare occasion parking fills, the Post Office nearby is the move: free, well-lit, police-patrolled, and they do not tow. Overnight parking of boats or trailers is not permitted at the Post Office however. Parking here is free, which is more than the hotels on the island can say.



    A NOTE ON STAIRS

    Three levels means three distinct, private spaces — which is exactly the point. It also means stairs between every floor. This property is not a good fit for guests who cannot manage stairs. If that applies to anyone in your group, please reach out before booking and we can point you to something better suited.

    Please note we have multiple units nearby and can rent you more than one. Inquire — we would love to help you out! We do manage a 4 plex (complete building) that are 2 bedroom / 2 bath condos nearly across the street.

    High-speed WiFi is included throughout the townhome; please note that Spectrum service can be spotty at times, so come prepared with a hotspot on your phone if you have must-do work as it can go down.



    DISCOUNTS — JUST ASK

    Reduced rates for off-season stays (September 15 – December 15), veterans and active military, and current Texas tackle football coaches (our sons play for Lake Travis in Austin — Go Cavs!). Send a message and ask.



    POLICIES

    Primary guest must be 25 or older. Guests under 25 require prior approval before booking and a substantial additional refundable damage deposit, if approved at all. A signed digital rental agreement and valid photo ID are required before check-in. Strict cancellation policy applies — this home books in advance and refunds are not available once booked. No smoking, no parties, no loud music at any time. The property is security patrolled at night.

    We PRO-clean between each reservation and stay — not a quick cleanup, done right every time. We have staff on 24 hours a day, a real bonus you cannot find with a mom-and-pop host. Starter toiletries and cleaning supplies are provided but not replenished. For stays of 3 nights or more, complimentary linen and towel exchange is available at the South Padre Trips office at 2600 Padre Blvd — the best property manager on South Padre Island.

You're just a short walk from a vibrant strip of restaurants and bars, including Nautico, Liam’s Steakhouse, and Johnny Rockets, perfect for a night out or a casual meal. For groceries and essentials, CVS is conveniently located nearly across the street. The beach is a stone's throw away, allowing for easy access to sun, sand, and sea. Explore the local shops and boutiques for unique souvenirs or enjoy a leisurely stroll along the scenic coastline. With its prime location, Tortuga Bay provides an ideal base for experiencing the lively atmosphere and natural beauty of South Padre Island.



    Getting Around:

    Getting around South Padre Island is easy! While Tortuga Bay offers one guaranteed parking space and ample guest parking, you might find yourself exploring the island. The island is walkable, especially with the restaurant and bar strip just steps away. For further destinations, consider using ride-sharing services, which are readily available. The nearest major airport is Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport (BRO), approximately a 35-40 minute drive away.



    Other Things to Note:

    Please take note of the following details to ensure a smooth stay at Tortuga Bay. Check-in is at 3 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM. A digital rental agreement and a valid photo ID are required before check-in. The primary guest must be at least 25 years old. Guests under 25 may require prior approval and an additional refundable damage deposit. No smoking, parties, or loud music are permitted at any time. Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 9 AM. You'll find one guaranteed parking space and ample guest parking, with additional free parking available at the Post Office. Please note that stairs are present between the three levels of the townhome. For stays longer than two nights, consider bringing extra supplies as starter toiletries are provided. The property is professionally managed by South Padre Island Trips, with 24/7 phone support.
