Wonderful Family Getaway

We had a wonderful stay here during our spring break. Our family had plenty of space and we were quite comfortable. The house has one of the most spectacular views we’ve ever experienced at a rental while also having all of the amenities we needed to cook a few meals. Can’t wait to come again!

Quiet and roomy

Wow! What a view

This little spot was so wonderful for a slice of Maine. Boothbay is wonderful to stroll around with friendly people. The view from the house is like a Norman Rockwell painting. So relaxing and so beautiful. We loved it.

Beautiful view...main floor and deck.

Clean, lovely view, inside twisting, narrow stairs not great for little ones or older ones with bad knees. Deck is off both upper bedrooms.

Perfect stay!

Gorgeous view to wake up to and end the afternoon with. We sat and watched the tide come in and out. They had games for my kids to play and everything you need in the kitchen. The beds were super comfortable and everything was clean. We will definitely be back if we are in the area!

Newagen Harbor is The Best Stone Age TV

The view of the harbor is always changing, wildlife, tides, boats. I can (and have) spent hours viewing from the living room and upper deck.

Lovely views - quiet neighborhood. Stairs to 2nd floor and deck narrow and difficult to navigate. Kitchen nice but should improve pots, glasses etc

Perfect!

This was a lovely getaway and we hope to return next year! The view is amazing and the deck is the icing on the cake. Good to know: Wifi and cell service are spotty. You'll want to bring your own water for cooking/drinking.

Perfect Relaxing Getaway!

I stayed here for a 3 day weekend with my father, husband, and 2 year old daughter. It was the perfect space to take your mind off the busy every day life. The place is clean, cozy, and has everything you need. The views are stunning from the living room to the rooftop. We will definitely be back!

Coastal view

This property has a gorgeous view of the Newagen coast and a local lighthouse. According to the book register, guests have been staying at this home since 2007. The home has a beautiful location, but you can see it is very frequently used as a vacation home. Unfortunately, there was the smell of pets we arrived, but we were able to isolate it to one room. It’s nice that you are able to do your laundry there, and you can walk out on the rocks when the tide is low.

Perfectly Pleasant

They thought of everything, including binoculars. We watched seabirds and lobstermen working and didn't leave the house until late in the day for the Botanical Gardens. They only communicate through Vacasa,email, and text. Good communication, though. Final payment is through Vacasa.

A slice of heaven!

The location of this house and the view were spectacular! Ocean views are nice, but when you have islands and lighthouses and wharfs and boats in the harbor to look at ads a dimension not to be beat! The house was designed Face the view with almost total glass walls to look at it through. And then you have the upstairs porch and the upstairs deck and an outdoor sitting area to give you different advantage points. I can’t imagine a better view of the main coast! The house is great, very clean and very quiet neighborhood. Definitely recommend this especially for photographers and painters!

Lovely Newagen House

My family and I stayed here for 5 days in August. We had a wonderful time. The view is absolutely amazing! The kitchen was well equipped and the house was clean. It was quiet and peaceful and short drive into Boothbay Harbor. There is a fantastic library at the end of the rose which was great for our toddler and even a Alpaca farm at the end of the road. I would definitely stay here again. Cell service is spotty but house has Wi-Fi. Be aware that the water has a rust color to it. It’s jarring when you first see it. Toilets didn’t look clean - but they are.

Beautiful views

The views are absolutely incredible! They also have shades on all of the windows so you aren't awakened at 4:00 am every morning, so we were thankful for that! The main bedrooms are at the top of fairly narrow, twisty staircase, which was fine for us, but this could potentially be a problem for some visitors. It was about a 15 minute ride into Boothbay Harbor, which is where we spent a lot of time during our stay, and it awesome! Beds in the upstairs bedrooms are very comfortable. We saw some reviews about the flapping vent that kept visitors awake; We also heard this flapping vent, but if you turn the overhead oven fan on low - problem solved! Overall great stay and would stay here again.

Filthy house, not worth the view

House was filthy at check in. Visibly dirty floors with large debris, hair, and food crumbs. The panoramic windows were covered in hand marks and smudges. The stovetop was covered in grease, dust, and food crumbs. Coffee maker was so bad we had to sterilize it with vinegar. All table surfaces were dirty. Bathroom floors, countertops, and showers had dirt and hair throughout. Showers were dirty in addition to being hard water stained. Washer and dryer doors did not open or close properly. We spent as little time in the house as possible as it was so disgusting. I’ve been vacationing in the area for 15 years and am highly disappointed. We felt physically dirty when departing the property.

Overall a gem…but

We loved a lot of things about this home. Our only negative comment is about the ants. They were everywhere in the kitchen and required us to store all foodstuffs in the refrigerator or microwave. One other note, the “fees” for this home were almost equal to the rental cost. That’s NUTS.
