As we discussed while you were here, and had expressed that you thought you your bathroom was an Ensuite ... The Erskine is promoted as 'Private detached bathroom' ... Expedia only gives us certain boxes to check (ie: 'Ensuite' or 'Private Detached') and no space to explain further so we have very tight perameters in which to work with... The difference between the words 'ensuite' and 'detached'. Thank you for providing the opportunity too for us to clarify the difference in definitions between the two washroom facility definitions. I just have to state one clarification ... we don't have a tv in the common area - nor, as you mention in the rooms. Being a 1921 original home - with original lathe & plaster walls, it's important for our guests' comfort that they're not disturbed with television noises from other rooms. We find most of our guests don't even care about tv, and those who do, have their laptops with them and are able to connect to their shows through there. Hello Sue and Mark! Thank you so very much for your kind words - you were a delight to host! We're also happy that although we are 'TV' free, that you decided to choose Simcoe Suites! Given the layout of our 1921 original Craftsman home, we decided when we opened five years ago that the comfort of all of our guests was paramount - including the noise of televisions that could transfer betwen rooms and floors. With original lathe and plaster walls and venting this is a real possibilty. We have found in this age of laptop and other such devices, our guests who wish to watch a show or a movie, do so on the devices they bring with them utilizing our free WiFi ... and enjoy their movies or shows either in their rooms, in one of our cozy seating areas ... even in our gardens! We also receive comments from our guests that they actually enjoyed not being 'plugged in' for a change! This summer, a number of new/first time events, festivals and activites have joined the line-up of things to do here in Port Dalhousie - and Niagara ... from Craft Beer festivals, to Movies and Concerts in Lakeside Park; supper and Farmers Markets; SUP (Stand up Paddleboarding) rentals, try-outs, yoga and pilates; bike rentals ... and a lot more to explore and experience the next time you're here!
