GREAT Property and Location!
Great property and responsive owner (I really appreciated that). We had minor challenge with tv. Also, suggestion: the bathroom could use more light and the shower would benefit from a safety bar.

Great Stay!
We loved our stay here. The home is very comfortable and a great place to relax. The views from the backroad are amazing. Beautiful views of the bridge and picture perfect sunsets. We will stay here again.

Furniture and bridge view
The furniture was quite uncomfortable. Another recliner and full size couch would be great. Was hoping to walk down to water, but the rocks and rock wall kept me from doing so. The steps out front were too steep for me. I have bad knees so it was very difficult for me to walk down them. Lastly, the bushes out back drew lots of bugs at night. The stay itself was very nice and was glad to get away. The beds were very comfortable!

Labor Day Weekend
This property is right on the water and offered spectacular sunsets and freighter watching. The bridge is amazing at night. Given the holiday, we were also treated to some fireworks in Mackinaw City. It is a pleasant little cabin and suited our needs nicely. It was very nice not being in the hustle and congestion of Mackinaw City as we did the bridge walk and the access from the St. Ignace was easy to navigate. St. Ignace is a very nice, quiet little town.

Our stay was very relaxing and comfortable. The lake view was wonderful. The property manager kept us well informed concerning scheduling and was very prompt with answering any and all questions we had. We will definitely be returning in the future.

The property was great - a view of the bridge with Mackinaw fireworks in sight from a well-placed swing. Place was comfortable, very cottage-like. Sleeping to the sound of water was wonderful. It would be helpful if the property had some kind of grill. And the coast is pretty rocky - being water shoes if you plan to take to dip! Hosts were great - very responsive and helpful!

Great Get Away
Shipwatch Point was a perfect get away. The home was very clean and stocked with all essentials. The view and sunsets were stunning. Close proximity to the Mackinac Island ferries made daytime excursions very easy, we even just went over for a nice dinner one evening. While it was a very relaxing trip we did need to do some work and the internet worked very well for both of us to be working remotely. We were able to stream TV shows without buffering or glitches. We hope time and schedule allow for a return visit.

Aurora Borealis as elusive as Sasquatch!
Property is right on the water and we had an AMAZING view of the bridge that so many photos hyped the Aurora Borealis to be seen with. Unfortunately as much as we tried, we were unable to catch a glimpse of it during our stay. We enjoyed having coffee out on the three season porch watching the waves roll onto the shore and barges dredging out on the water...recommend to trim the branches at about 10 feet so the lake view could be seen better. The home was well maintained , very clean and cozy. First shower we found that it does take quite a while for the hot water to start flowing. Vising St. Ignace when we did was the perfect time if one wanted to avoid the crowds and tourists. It was an enjoyable, relaxing week for us and would definitely consider going back!

Favorite St. Ignace property
We have now stayed at Shipwatch Pointe seventeen times. Each year we hope to return and eagerly anticipate the quiet, private home and view. The house is perfectly clean and newly updated. It's all about the view and location. Perfect base camp and relaxation spot. Looking forward to returning again soon.

Outstanding views of Lake Michigan!
You can really experience the beauty of Lake Michigan from this lakeside home. We spent most of our time staring out at the beautiful lake. There is a lake view from every room. The home is very clean, photos are accurate, and the master bed is very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a great time at Ship Watch Point. The location was close to town. The view was incredible. Great sunsets and watching the moon. Beautiful view of the Mackinac Bridge. Spent time at Pictured Rock National Lakeshore and waterfalls in the area. Great thrift shop in town too. Hope House or something like that. Had a great dinner at the Truck Stop family restaurant on Hwy 2.

When we opened the door, it looked and smelled so nice and fresh. The sunroom was a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast and play cards each evening. We spent a lot of time in the swing enjoying the waves and the passing boats.

My family and I enjoyed our stay here at Shipwatch Point! The location was perfect for us to take day trips to other places we wanted to visit during our stay in the UP. Very nice! Perfect location for us with nice views of shipping lanes plus easy access to town, ferry and stores. Private lot and quiet except for the calming waves gently landing ashore. House had everything we needed. Only issue was that we had trouble operating cable TV system but evidently figured it out. Would rent again if ever in the area.

Property sits right on Lake Michigan and has beautiful view of the bridge and the lake. House doesn’t have air conditioning so it can get humid from the lake especially on rainy days. Has a nice deck area for sitting and enclosed porch for eating.

Great location and home
We have rented Ship Watch Pointe many times since 2002. The third owner has improved the home with new windows, sliding doors, and floor in the porch. New furniture is high quality. My favorite part of this home is the location. Majestic views of the Straits of Mackinac and the Mackinac Bridge. The sky is very dark at night to enjoy lingering sunsets and full view of the stars. We can't wait to return to Ship Watch Pointe.

Location is unreal, right on the water with macinaw bridge and freighters passing in the distance. Very peaceful and relaxing. Booking and communication with host was very easy. Location is less than 5 min from gas, food etc. Highly recommend

Great spot for heading out on day trips
This location is great for heading out in all directions to see more of the UP. We made a trip to Whitefish Point and Tahquamenon Falls one day. Wonderful to return and enjoy the water and bridge view while relaxing on the enclosed and heated porch. The weather was chilly, rainy and windy, but we made the best of it. When the sun did pop out it was even better! We drove to Detour and passed through the Les Cheneaux area another day. We’d visit here again for sure.

Private Oasis Paradise!
From the minute we opened the main door and stepped inside, I turned to my husband and said, "This is PERFECT! Exactly what I wanted!" Just steps inside, looking out the window was a beautiful view of Lake Michigan...so close! I had a hard time unloading the car since all I wanted to do was get outside and check out the property. I started texting my girlfriends telling them I found the perfect get-away spot for a girls' trip! We truly couldn't have been happier! Spacious, well-equipped kitchen, large bedrooms, bathroom, 4 Season room that I loved...all was heaven for a few days! AND so close to many areas, but we felt like we had so much private and quiet...just what we were looking for! Looking forward to booking this house again someday!

We loved our stay at Ship Watch Point. Although near a very lightly traveled road, it feels secluded. There is no one on one side and the other side is fairly hidden via trees/shrubs. The house itself was very clean and well appointed. Nice comfortable king size bed in the master bedroom. Large, well equipped kitchen. Due to COVID, we cooked our own meals and spent most of our time relaxing at the cottage, reading, watching the freighters pass by and doing some swimming (rocky bottom so bring some old sneakers or water shoes) in the straits. Would not hesitate to rent this place again. The owner and his agent were very easy to work with. Thanks for a great getaway!

Peaceful, Tranquil, Beautiful Location and Accessibility to St. Ignace and surrounding area!
Ship Watch Pointe was everything and more! The description, while accurate, actually undersells the reality of the situation once you arrive. We were beyond pleased with the accommodations, and appreciated the closeness to the Ferry Dock for access to Mackinac Island. Additionally, it was so nice being close to St. Ignace and Mackinaw City. We had so much fun exploring and experiencing the area, and loved coming back to Ship Watch Pointe at the end of each of our adventurous days. To have the luxury of preparing most of our meals in the spacious and loaded kitchen, and enjoying one another’s company lakeside on the Deck and waterside swing was wonderful. I must say that the Sun Rises, Sunsets, and marvelous moon over the water are definite sights to be seen. Ship Watch Pointe was perfect for the aforementioned, and aptly outfitted 3 Adults and 2 Teens, perfectly. We were very comfortable, and could not more highly recommend this place to others.

This property was absolutely perfect for a foursome of ladies for a long weekend!!! We all enjoyed it so much. The water view and firepit is fantastic, and we were basically out there for 80% of our time. All 4 of us were so happy and relaxed there. We WILL be returning sometime. All 4 of us may return with our folks too!! The beds and inside were also perfect. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!!

Nice Place to Stay on Lake Michigan with View of Mackinac Bridge
This property worked very well for us. It was great to wade into Lake Michigan (water shoes are recommended to navigate the stones). We took the kayaks along the shore for an enjoyable ride. We appreciated the WI-FI and Direct TV, the Clothes Washer and Dryer. We really did not miss not having A/C, as the nightly breezes cooled us down just fine. Thanks!

The house was clean and accommodating. Stepping out the back door to be right on the lake was awesome! The views from the house were spectacular! Watching the sunset behind the island or just taking in the view of the bridge. Location wise it was great for me. Just far enough from town to have some seclusion, but close enough to not mind the drive. Overall we had a great stay.
