The key system and the showers reflect the hostel was designed by someone who travelled a lot. You have your own key opening the hostel, the room and your own locker. Amazing. In the shower you have a specific curtain to protect your things. Very good idea. Hostel is a bit old in furniture but definitely good choice.

I like the location, the stuff were very good especially the guy from Serbia and the guy from Bangladesh they were really helpfull and very nice. I dislike everything at that hostel, very expensive hostel, they never provide their customers anything, service very bad, they charge you 37 Euro per punck bed, and never give you lotion for taking bath. the kitchen horrible, the fridge very small its enough for few persons. not safe at all cos i never found my beer and water after i put it the fridge. the prices for drinks at the rooftop was crazy expensive. No have any kind of services provides to the customers. Really very bad hostel.

Highly recommend to avoid
Staff was nice but that was where the positives end. The building was 1000 degrees and the AC in the room did nothing. I don’t understand how much it was hotter inside the building than outside. The quality of the mattress and pillow were embarrassing. I could feel every spring in the mattress that is probably old as sin and the pillow was crap too. The hostel owner needs to put some money into the place because the comfort provided is pathetic. The main purpose of a hostel is sleep so if the beds are horrible and the AC does nothing then the hostel is a failure.

Very dirty room. Mould on walls and smell of mould and mildew! extremely dirty and the dirt is built up on the sides of beds and on floors. no common area to relax, only pub area which is not idea for working and if weather is bad the deck isnt possible for working. Essentially only a bed and that is it. Microwave also needs replaced. 20EUR deposit is taken for key. Received it back at end of stay.

Marco Polo Hostel is a nice youth place to stay! Well located, close to busses stops and restaurantes. Everything was good, nice people in the room and staff. Highly recommend.

Very cheap hostel, but the bunk-beds bed are pretty uncomfortable. Good location close to bus stops to get to nicer parts of Malta, but the area itself doesn't offer much, at least not in November during a pandemic. It's probably much better in 'normal' times.

This place was brilliant. Staff were fantastic and really friendly. They run some great trips round the island and the evening entertainment is amazing as well. Really nice bunks and good clean showers ect. The location is perfect. Will be staying here again!! Deserves 6 stars

Good location with amenities a few moments away. Great bus connections across the road to Valletta. Unfortunately the lifts didn't work the whole time we were staying and the reception is on the top floor so it's good exercise. The bedroom door is a bit thin so you can hear people walking up and down the stairs. The roof terrace is nice to hang out and chill and kitchen was adequate.

Brilliant location, this is one really fun hostel! Fully equipped kitchen for everyones use, clean and tidy and great decor. Have to single out the mad aussie Simone who made my stay here one to remember! She is a diamond and nothing was too much trouble for her. Highly recommend this place, eco-conscious and they have curtains on the beds, sign of a good hostel. I will be back!

The hostel overall was good. The atmosphere was friendly and accommodating, the staff were helpful and nightlife was good. I loved the privacy curtains in the dorm. However ! I do have a few cons: - My bedsheets were not clean, there were stains on both the duvet and fitted sheet -The bathrooms were not clean, i found sick on one of the floors of the toilet. - The bathrooms are shared, with both males and females regardless of if you have booked for a female only dorm. I think this needs to be made more clear on booking. - The male employees, would walk into a room without knocking first to clean ... i had an issue with this, what if someone was getting changed, and a male employee decided to walk in without notice ? - There was no AC in the room, so it would get really hot in the evenings. It’s a good hostel but it’s overrated and did not live up to the hype that everyone is talking about on these reviews.

Great location! Right across the street from the bus station. Supermarket, clubs, bars, and shopping stores all within walking distance. Helpful staff, clean facility with privacy curtains! Met great people from all over the world. Certainly recommend this hostel

I stayed at Marco Polo for 10 days in November and really enjoyed myself. It's well-managed and sits in the middle of everything. The staff were great to chat with and helped me with everything I needed. Kate, especially, was always ready to offer advice on activities and made sure I had an excellent stay. Go, stay a while!
It was great staying there and a fun place for sure. Comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms and lots of activities. Staff are generally nice and helpful. Thanks to Nick for the conversations here and there and for always being cheerful. Hydee was also a good hostess. Major thanks to Alex for his attentiveness when my locker was broken and the night out at Footloose. However, I will say is the turning on of the air conditioning should be more consistent. Rooms get a bit hot too often. Also, maybe 12 euros is a bit too much for a standard activity cost.

Affordable place closed to the beach and bus stop
Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. It is convenient as it is just 2 minutes walk to the bus stop, and about 6 minutes walking distance to the beach. There is a direct bus to airport.

A Decent Stay
It is a really nice hostel for sure. However, I prefer not to take cold showers, there aren't appealing to me. Also, the shower curtains could be changed as they are moldy. The bathrooms are poorly ventilated so maybe that is a problem. Other than that, I do not have any complaints about the hostel. The staff was nice and helpful.

A good hostel but a few points really let it down.
The check-in was smooth, all staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The facilities are modern and security is very good. Unfortunately the other guests were very loud and not at all respectful both inside and outside the rooms. The noise from the corridors was loud way into 3am+, lots of loud screams and laughter that went on for hours. I also noticed bites all over my skin the day after checking out, these could only have happened during my stay. It's a shame about the noise and bites as the location and style of this place are great.

The staff is fantastic and accommodating, they all work hard to make your stay the best possible! Good location, good security on rooms and lockers (which are huge!)! Bathrooms are shared with a whole floor, not just your room but that hasn’t been a problem yet for me.

Fantastic place!
The best hostel I've stayed at. Everything was really clean and pleasant. The decor and atmosphere were just what I would've hoped for, and my stay was relaxing, fun and enjoyable. The staff are friendly and helpful, with good recommendations for food and sightseeing, and also good company. In particular, Arthur and Guillaume were fantastic, and great fun to hang out with

The hostel made the stay!
Honestly, this was one of the best hostels I have ever been to. It really made my whole stay amazing. The accommodations were clean, cozy, and comfy, in a great location, and everyone was super friendly and helpful. The rooftop deck and bar were especially awesome. Jamie especially made my stay special, chatting with me a bunch my first night and organizing an amazing bar crawl (better than the official one) my last night. I would recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Malta for a good time! Especially for solo travelers.

Tanto los trabajadores del hotel ( los y las recepcionistas y la limpiadora), como la dirección o gestión del hotel se han computado como excelentes profesionales y personas con humanidad; enhorabuena, esta es muy buena combinación. Both the hotel workers (the receptionists and the cleaner), as well as the management of the hotel, have been considered excellent professionals and people with humanity; congratulations, this is a very good combination.
