A fantastic week was ruined the morning of check-out. For starters, we are a family of 5 (my husband and I, our 2 kids and our 92 year-old Grandmother - who requires walker/wheelchair.
In short, housekeeping was at our door at 10:00am to clean our unit, we weren't quite ready but we let her in so she could start cleaning, we vacated the unit around 10:30.
Then I got a text and email saying I would be charged a late fee for not being out at 10:00am because the unit had to be ready at 4pm. I totally understand that, which is why we invited housekeeping into the unit to start cleaning as we finished getting my mom and kids out the door.
Anyway, we've travelled with my Mother dozens of times and this is the FIRST TIME we have EVER BEEN RUSHED OUT OF A PROPERTY by housekeeping.
Additionally, the unit needs work - front door lock is very difficult to unlock with key; screen doors to balconies were off the tracks and couldn't close; the TV in the family room DIDN"T WORK; ran out of Hot Water if more than one person took a shower.
Anyway, I guess this is a clear case of putting the health concerns and special circumstances of your guests BEHIND collecting hefty fee for a late check-out.
Will NOT be staying in this unit EVER again!
