Wonderful and affordable place to stay in Stowe. My room was beautiful and very clean! I used the sauna, hot tub and pool and again everytjong was clean and workimg. Will stay here again.

There are so many things to say and not enough characters available. The inn is clean and the price was fine given the busy weekend before the eclipse. The front desk staff who checked us in was condescending, recommending we make plans for backup plans because of how many people were in town. I plan ahead, I don't need the 'helpful' tone. There's a complete no smoking policy. They insinuated if you smoke in your vehicle while on the property and someone sees, then smokes in their room because 'they were smoking in their car', you would be subject to a $250 fine. No designated area on the property, you would have to step off (onto the street) to smoke. There's no front desk attendant after 10p and a number to call for emergencies. The heat in our room was not adjustable and it was 78 degrees all night. The a/c didn't work either and there were doors, not windows, so opening them wouldn't have been safe. Heat being an inconvenience and not an emergency we didn't call the number. We also ran out of hot water for the shower and reported that to the front desk in the morning. The response was "oh, it must be because everyone is showering this morning." Sounds like the hot water system needs an upgrade. The place also has very thin walls; we could hear the upstairs guests snoring all night. Between the attitude, the thermostat issues, and the lack of hot water, definitely not a place we'd stay at again.

Great location between the stowe village and the slopes with free shuttle just in front of the building. Spatious rooms and condos with all needed appliances for a few days.

Thank you for the input. As we try to accommodate our guest with early check-ins, our standard check-in time is 4 pm. It is our goal to ensure rooms are available by this time, but it can fluctuate based on overall hotel demands. We are unsure what was advertised for you on Expedia's website for rooms, as we do not control them, but I am certain our 2 Queen with a fireplace was comfortable and certainly worth the 1-night stay with us. Decent hotel in the Stowe area. Expensive for what you get, but that's par for the course these days. The beds were creaky and not very comfortable. No water pressure or hot water for showers. The room was clean.

Very comfortable stay at the gray fox inn
We stayed at the gray fox inn a Saturday to a Tuesday in February during ski season. Obviously the purpose of our trip was to take advantage of skiing Stowe. Our family consisted of a married couple a mother-in-law in two teenage sons. We were very comfortable in two double queen efficiency rooms in the mountain view building. We had rooms 30 and 32. Both rooms were very clean, large enough for our purposes and comfortable. We took advantage of the shuttle to the mountain every day we were there. The stop was about 50 to 75 yards away from the hotel driveway so not bad at all. The shuttles run continuously in ski season and we never had more than about a 15 minute wait except for the time where we saw the shuttle going past as we were walking out of the room. Probably waited about 20-25 minutes for the next one on a Monday. I think they run more on the weekend. My wife and mother-in-law who were not skiing with us found the town of Stowe very charming, plenty of places to eat. Grab a beer or shop. Things that could use improvement There was a bit of water damage around the edges of the tub where the drywall had been wet. Nothing crazy, but if this is not addressed soon it will likely deteriorate be very unsightly. Our boys really enjoyed the pool and the foosball table, unfortunately, the hot tub was out of service during the time of our stay. The clerk said it had been recently vandalized. The kids still had a blast playing in the pool.

Grey Fox Inn
Room was warm and cozy with a dual fireplace in the bathroom and bedroom. Beautiful view. It rained for most of our visit so that was bad. Only negative about the Inn was that they didn’t leave enough tolite or tissue paper. I called the desk and they did come right away. The front desk was friendly and courteous . Great place to stay for skiing in Stowe. Convenient to restaurants and it has a great walking trail.

The Inn was off the main road and close to a few places to eat and shop. The only downside was our room was up one set of stairs. But the room was great, very quiet, and was just as the photos. The indoor pool was clean and overall we had a good time visiting.

Rooms were very spacious and clean. We got upgraded to a 2 bed condo after only paying for a basic room. Very friendly staff and the room upgrade made our stay!! Would defiantly visit again. Very close to downtown and walkable to a few restaurants.

The pool and hot tub looked nice and clean. Pool was pretty cold but hot tub temp was good. Room was clean and seemed recently updated. Weird layout, small sitting room, bathroom to walkthrough to the small bedroom. Bed was really soft but go the job done. Fireplace did not work. Overall, good place to stay, was convenient to the music we were there to see.

The rooms were very clean and cozy. The bath tub was awesome- did not know it would be a soaking tub! The property and walking path was a lot of fun with our 3 & 5 year olds. We would Definitely stay again.

I felt the property wasn’t all that well maintained. It honestly looked deserted. The room itself was beautiful and we would definitely stay there again. Would have liked a better view. Being one of only a few guests I’m not sure why we were put in a corner bottom floor room with very little view.

This was one of our favorite places to stay in Stowe. The property is beautiful and the rooms are exceptionally clean. The only issue we had was the lady at the front desk was really rude and unprofessional but other than that the stay was great.
