Thank you for leaving us this review. We are glad to hear your appreciation of the house and your time in Stowe. We regret that there were issues with the hot water and offer our apologies. The cause of the hot water issue was a failed check valve on the hot water line which was replaced the same day as your check-out. The hot water is now working well. In regard to our location and any concerns about road noise that future visitors may have, it could be helpful to mention a few things. First, its unfortunate that your visit was during a time when a short-lived road work project was occurring just down the street resulting in an increase of construction traffic. Second, it’s worth noting that our home along with the majority of the other premier Historic Stowe Village homes and vacation rentals are located on or adjacent to Maple Street/Main Street. Given the small size of the Historic Village, it's not actually possible to rent in this area without being proximal to Maple Street/Main Street, a location which also makes possible easy walking access to all the shops, businesses, restaurants and parks. While there is daytime local and commercial traffic typical of a popular mountain town, it does settle down outside of business and commute hours. Which is to say, in our experience, it's reasonably calm during the times that most guests will be returning to the house after their daytime outings and adventures and is quiet during sleeping hours.
