“Achtung, wir konnten unser Elektroauto laden, allerdings wurden uns am Ende 0,75£ / kw/h verrechnet! Das ist natürlich viel zu viel für eine Wallbox. Zugegebenermaßen haben wir im Vorfeld nicht nach dem Preis gefragt, wir haben mit so einem Wucher aber auch einfach nicht gerechnet. Daher ein Stern Abzug. Ansonsten eine gemütliche, saubere Unterkunft. Das Zimmer war ruhig in Richtung Garten. Das Frühstück war gut. Das Stadtzentrum ist sehr gut fußläufig erreichbar.”

“Amazing location - almost anywhere you would like to go is less than 15 minutes on foot! The snacks and fruits in the room were more than any other hotel we have seen. Having parking in the hotel itself was extremely convenient. And the staff were all wonderful. For people with limited mobility, it may be a problem as there are lots of steps and no elevators. Other than that, everything is great!”

“Neat place above the pub. If staying in that section, the stairs are quite narrow to get checked luggage up - but doable. We booked through Expedia and it said no attendant on site - so there was confusion on where to leave our bags and we did not receive a response so we ended up paying Premier Inn to hold our bags. But when we got to the hotel after checkin time , there was reception in the Pub. She was very nice and got us checked in quickly. Place was old and could use a dusting of the……

“Fantastic location. Quiet but within easy walking distance of town centre. No free parking but paid car park very close and plenty of space even at busy times (weekend/evenings only). Nice room with quirky decor. Comfortable bed. Delicious full English breakfast. Some cleanliness issues. Shower head full of limescale. Carpets in communal areas threadbare. Overall, though, we would stay again.”

“A lovely quirky & very old hotel. We had a great stay & will come back again. Not really any negatives above what you would expect from an old historic building. Attention to detail could be improved in a few area's, but these are minor, picky things. Positives far outweigh the negatives. Great building,l & great location to town. Family room was very nice & spacious, staff were friendly & helpful. Excellent breakfast (cold plates at 1st breakfast! Attention to detaiil). Swimming pool was……

“N:A to pets. Shops nearby The room was clean but it needs a very big refurb-the bathroom was dreadful in all areas. The room carpet had stains and burns, the light fittings were hanging out of their sockets. Wall sockets were fitted uneven. The tv remote back casing was missing. There was no bin. The curtains need to be blackout as the outside light shone through. There was a squashed bug on the ceiling. The pillows had no filling. ”

“Property is quirky and well located but outdoor space needs some TLC to make it more usable and some more friendly outdoor seating. I found it unusual to be asked to strip the bed and put into a plastic bag before departing. Everything needed was there and I would return.”
