Hotel Munzmay, Uhlbach

All I'm looking for in a hotel is a clean and comfortable bed for the night and somewhere to have a shower in the morning. This hotel ticks all those boxes with the bonus of friendly staff and a decent breakfast. The only thing missing for a British traveler is tea/coffee making facilities in the room but you don't get that anywhere in Germany, even in hotels at three times the price, so pack a small travel kettle is my advice. Parking is a minor drawback as spaces are very limited. But I did manage to park on street less than 100 metres away so not a significant problem. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on my next visit. Although the hotel doesn't offer evening meals there are at least 5 restaurants just a short walk away. I had a very pleasant meal in Weinstube Cafe Löwen. Also worth a visit is the Grabkapelle Rotenberg, a sepulchral chapel on Württemberg hill. It's a twenty minute walk but mostly uphill through vineyards. Spectacular views over Stuttgart and an amazing echo down in the crypt.
