Due South - Oceanfront with Fantastic Views!

Due South offers comfort and convenience in a beautifully landscaped oceanfront setting. Each bedroom features a private bath, flat-screen TV, ceiling fan, and premium bedding. The home includes a large TV in the living room and a dining table that seats 12, along with a well-equipped kitchen for all your culinary needs.

Enjoy stunning views from two large ocean-side decks with plenty of rocking chairs, a private sun deck, and ceiling fans throughout. Additional amenities include spacious parking, a boardwalk to the beach, a foot shower, and a private outdoor shower.

Included Amenities with Weekly Rentals:
- Bed linens (beds in bedrooms only) are provided for weekly rentals. Towels are not provided but can be rented through Coastal Vacation Resorts.
- A Welcome Amenity Bag is included with starter toilet paper, paper towels, a kitchen kit, and a bathroom kit.
(Guests should plan to bring or purchase additional paper products and detergents once starter supplies are used.)

Overall Good Experience

Overall, it was a most enjoyable experience in a house that met our expectations. The description and pictures accurately describe the lovely, well maintained property and its many amenities. The beach is family friendly and excellent for shell hunting. Following are some issues we experienced during our stay. Upon arrival one of the downstairs bedrooms was not cleaned properly. There is a problem keeping a comfortable temperature in both downstairs bedrooms. They were too warm, so the thermostat for this level of the house had to be set so low the rest of the downstairs living space (kitchen, dining, and living room) was uncomfortably cold. This house is adjacent to a private beach access boardwalk for houses on streets that are not ocean-front. There was a steady flow of people with fully loaded beach wagons who set up close by on the beach. We had to put out our beach gear by 7 AM to ensure we had it in front of our beach boardwalk. There is only one medium sized refrigerator for a house with 5 bedrooms and a capacity for 16 people. We had to use 3 large coolers and keep refilling them with ice for the duration of the stay to keep drinks and other perishable foods cold. The ice maker in the refrigerator sometimes stopped working and required attention to get it going again. One upstairs bedroom has no closet. We were unable to watch programming on some of the televisions.

Average vacation rental.

The property was in many way nice on the surface but now wow. The price was good. The kitchen was ok but many older cheap cooking utensils china and glasses OK pots and pans poor. Stove and refrigerator were not real clean. The AC was good but loud. The stairs like everywhere are a pain but doable. The Grill was very dirty and rusty but usable. Overall nothing really bad or really special except repaired deck to beach walk way. Liked the master sweet with deck to outside and separate stairs.

Great location, but house needs attention

This house was not clean and too many things to list here with limited space. We read other reviews that stated the same, but felt sure the property managers would have seen that it didn’t happen again. We knew the house was out of date, but we did expect it to be clean. It needs so much work inside and out, the least of which is a deep cleaning, paint, and repairs to deck floors and railing. The location was convenient being right on the beach. It was nice having a bathroom for each bedroom. The space and floor plan was perfect for our family of 4 generations. The property management company was easy to work with. They probably would have addressed the dirty house if we reported on arrival, but we didn’t. We just cleaned as best we could so we could start enjoying vacation. September the weather was a bit cooler and the beach was not crowded.

We had a lovely week at Holden but this property leaves a lot to be desired. It's pretty dated and certainly could use some new paint to hide the dirty walls. The HVAC system in the home created freezing common areas and hot bedrooms. The outside porch is nice and wide and the gas grill were pluses.

Beautiful Beach Home

My family of six and our parents recently spent a week at this beautiful beach home--I wish we could have stayed a month. From the impressive century plants in the yard to the well-stocked kitchen and spacious bedrooms, this house did not disappoint. This is a perfect space for large families and it's located on a less crowded part of the beach. Our favorite spots at night were the rocking chairs on the ocean front porches--so peaceful. We saw shooting starts from the upper porch and, on a few nights, some pretty wild military training exercises out over the ocean. Arrival and departure would be easier with a lockbox or keypad, but the agency was fast and friendly. We will definitely be back!

Great family stay!

We enjoyed sitting on the spacious covered upper and lower back decks that offered a 180 view of the ocean. The home was nicely appointed with ample bedrooms and a suit bathrooms. The kitchen and dining area were great for family meals and game nights.
