"The property seems to be recently updated, it is modern, and clean. The amenity is lacking a few things (for example, it tells the guest to wash dishes and put them away but doesn’t provide a clothe to dry them). Also, the instruction isn’t super clear. The instruction reads to leave the key on the table when checking out (that’s what it says literary in English), when in fact you need to lock and put the key in the lockbox as one example. Also the road to access the property is quite narrow...

Hotel New Wakasa

Nara

10/10 Excellent

We have been to many onsen ryokan and the quality has been declining in general in terms of food and amenities but Hotel New Wakasa made us want to book our trip to it again next year! It is considered as one of our best onsen ryokan experience in the past ten years for overall quality. I didn’t know their staff names but all of them are welcoming with a good smile and helpful. Our teenage birthday boy got a surprise dessert platter at dinner which was very thoughtful and we appreciated it...
