This hotel isn't fancy but the rooms are comfortable and clean and it's well located. The staff is super nice and very helpful. The gentleman who runs the hotel is incredibly friendly and charismatic. We loved him. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel was basically of the quality of a youth hostel with private rooms but at three times the price. There was no air conditioning, beds were narrow, and the floor stained. Check in hours were restricted to before 10 pm and they said they would cancel the reservation if not arrived by then. The location was great.

Ontzettend leuk hotel, erg goede ligging tov het station en centrum. Kamers schoon, met ventilator, heel fijn. Ruime gemeenschappelijke ruimte met koelkast, koffie en thee, magnetron, prima! Heel leuke dame bij de receptie die erg behulpzaam en enthousiast is! Zou absoluut nog een keer hier verblijven.

First, the amenities were great: clean guestrooms, two fans in each room, and for our use there was a dining room with tables and chairs, a microwave and a fridge, a kettle with free tea, and two vending machines. Also, the staff were welcoming, caring, and friendly, from the adorable cleaning ladies to Chavi the owner/manager, the host with the most! He was always willing to help with anything and answer any question. As a senior traveler, I felt very safe and comfortable with him and his team and was impressed that I wasn't the only older guest who felt the same. Finally, all I want to say is LLL (L=location). The Pigal is minutes away on foot to the train and bus stations, myriad restaurants and bars, the old quarter and cathedral, Tarragona's famous Roman ruins, and the Mercat Central which has an old-style market and a modern super market. If you're lucky, you'll be in town to catch the Castells, human towers and the Sardana, Catalunya's famous dance, both taking place near the hotel.

Välkomnandet var fantastiskt där vi fick en gedigen genomgång av staden och dess sevärdheter med all information man behöver. Kartan demonstrerades med stor inlevelse och med många bra tips. Hotellets läge är perfekt och upplägget med möjlighet till ett ”självhushåll” i de gemensamma ytorna gillade vi. Det var väldigt varmt under vårt besök och tyvärr hade vi ett rum utan AC, dock fanns fläktar. Besöker vi Tarragona igen kommer vi absolut att boka rum hos Pigal på nytt!

This was a cost effective place for me to stay as I am traveling solo. The staff were very helpful and kind. Overall, I had a good experience here and would recommend it to a friend. Xavier was a legend.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Pigal in central Tarragona, Spain. The location is excellent—within a reasonable walking distance of the Roman amphitheater, the port, the old town, the central market, and plenty of restaurants. What really stood out, however, was the exceptional hospitality from Charlie, the hotel owner/manager. He was incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English. When we arrived, he immediately took the time to personally show us where to park, which was especially helpful in a busy central location. Charlie also spent considerable time with us going over a city map, pointing out the key sights and explaining the best ways to get around Tarragona. I noticed that he did the same for other guests as well, which says a lot about the personal attention he gives to his guests. He also clearly explained how to use the communal meal area and made sure we had everything we needed. Our room was clean, comfortable, and efficiently arranged—exactly what we needed for our stay. The hotel is also very reasonably priced for such a convenient central location. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a clean, well-located, reasonably priced hotel with genuinely personal service. Charlie makes Hotel Pigal feel much more welcoming than a typical hotel.
