This place is a gem! From the owners who greeted us with open arms. To the extremely well kept rooms, easy parking, and walkable little downtown. The outside sitting area was an added bonus with a fireplace. Amazing stay love the experience! We will be back!

I only stayed one night, but it was very comfortable and well maintained. The owner was very pleasant when I checked in and offered lots of helpful tips for the area. I'd recommend staying here.

Kenny and Krista have done everything to make their guests feel welcome. From every bathroom accessory to comfy robes and slippers, chocolate in the fridge and cold waters waiting in your room. We enjoyed their homemade family style breakfast. Do not skip Krista’s homemade vanilla scones -best ever! Small, old school wonderful cozy experience.

A great place to stay on your way across the country. There are views of the Bighorns from a block away. Near tasty food options (I recommend the chicken fried steak at the saloon just down the street) and a gas station. Really amazing free breakfast, including home-baked breads and homemade jams. If you're staying in Tensleep to hike the Bighorns or whatever, I recommend visiting the Pioneer Museum. Really cool! Note that there isn't really a grocery in town. Dirty Sally's has ice cream, camping supplies, food for camping, and souvenirs, but not a full grocery lineup. For groceries, the closest place is a ways west of town; east of town you have to go all the way through the Bighorns to Buffalo.

This was the best place we stayed on a three week trip.Host was personable and outgoing. Breakfast was the greatest being homemade by the owners. Homemade breads, cookies ,scones eggs,etc.If you have an opportunity to stay here use it, you'll not be disappointed. 10 stars

This place is amazing! Very clean rooms, friendly owners and the breakfasts are so delicious- all home made breads, eggs, waffles- homemade jams that are so yummy on the homemade sourdough breads! Kenny and Christa are lovely and are so kind and helpful ! Would highly recommend this quaint little motel - so special - we will be visiting again!!!

The Carter Motel was a wonderful small inn where we stayed while spending a few days in the tiny town of Ten Sleep. The owners/hosts were super gracious and made the stay extra special. The homemade breakfasts were delicious! They offered other small amenities that made a big difference: cookies at check-in, (million dollar bars were to die for!), chocolates in your room. I highly recommend the Carter Motel, and hope to return someday!
