“Staff very friendly. Room good size, clean and aircon was very much appreciated. Breakfast, although a separate charge, was very good. Lots of choice. Plenty free parking.”

“The hotel is extremely well situated right on the front and close to the pier. It is currently undergoing some much-needed maintenance, leading to some unwelcome building noise and obstructions. There were a number of issues with our room, including a shower which would not drain properly, and dodgy wifi, leading also to problems with the TV. They did try to sort these out, but ultimately unsuccessfully. Service at breakfast was very poor. The self-service cereal etc table consisted of a single……

“Expedia did not relay my original request for a twin-bedded room (we were two elderly ladies) and we were allocated VERY SMALL double bed which was totally unacceptable. Fortunately the hotel were eventually able to arrange a twin-bedded room by splitting a king size bed into two sections and the situation was resolved. BUT it could have spoiled our holiday had a solution not been found (the hotel was fully booked).”

The shower room was very clean and modern; the bedding was immaculate on a comfortable bed; it was a shame the carpet hadn't been vacuumed. “Very pleasant hotel and lovely owners and staff. An old building with character features but clean and tidy. The room was large with a huge double bed, TV, tea & coffee making facilities and a small fridge. The bathroom was modern clean and tidy with lots or towels, but beware the seagulls are noisy if you have your window open. The breakfast was good with a large selection of fruit, cereals or cooked. There is parking outside and it is only a short walk to the Clacton Pier and Beach and……

“It was very shabby and it smelt bad. It is conveniently situated for the centre of Clacton but it was very noisy and so I didn't sleep well. There was very little space in the bathroom. They don't do breakfasts so I had to schlep round town in the heat trying to find somewhere. On a positive note the gentleman was very friendly and welcoming when I checked in.”

“Lovely guesthouse, does exactly what it needs to do , welcoming hosts, lovely clean comfortable room with everything you need. Breakfast really good. Parking helps and distance to seafront nice walk.”

“Michael was great as a host and had terrific communication. The unit is spacious and well laid out. The only issue was the couch. It looked great but was uncomfortable. The propertv is a block away from the entertainment district. Perfect place for a weekend get away. ”
