Moose Pass Tern Lake Hotels

"Older property in need of updating. Staff was super. Rooms clean and quiet. Beds are on softer side but still comfortable. Interestingly the room had some very convenient built ins to hold luggage or sit upon. Rooms were larger and conveniently laid out. Peacefully quiet. In walking distance on Marina and day cruises. Hotel has restaurant and bar under same name serviced by lovely people serving good tasting food. This place however needs a good scrubbing and fresh paint. The restaurant, “Ray’s”, a five minute walk from hotel, is the very best place we found to eat in the three days we were in Seward. Fantastic selection of seafood and steaks, cocktails, wine and desserts. Just Wow! A little on the expensive side but every other place was too. Ray’s was the only one worth it in our opinion. "

"My husband and I live in Anchorage, but we love to get out of town and go fish in Cooper Landing. This house exceeded our expectations, especially for February. It was a quick drive from the Kenai, and its close proximity to Seward suited all of our needs while being secluded enough to enjoy our privacy. The bed was comfy, the nice hot shower felt amazing, they had done a great job shoveling snow, and the place was immaculately clean. This is one of those rentals you keep in your back pocket and stay at again and again. Thank y’all for opening your tiny home to us!"

"Our cruise was cancelled so we flew into Anchorage and booked this home. Gary met us at the door and showed us around. The house was perfect and beautiful. It was about 1 1/2 hrs from Anchorage and 1 hr from Seward. We were able to see sites in Seward and in the area. We would have loved to stay longer but we had other commitments. The views of the lake and mountains are breathtaking. Gary was very nice and visited a few times as we were leaving. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves coming to the area."

"My 8 year old LOVED the loft :) we loved this lil cabin in the woods...it was a perfect addition to our Alaska vacation. My son loved all the lil details and having a place just for him where 'mom' couldn't follow lol Very memorable place."

"I wish I could live here for the whole summer. It was very clean. Huge bed. Hot tub was great. There is a small gas grill on one of the decks. I used it almost every day. There is another deck up the spiral staircase where there are more beds. The heat worked great although I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. But that is fine with me. You park your car in a car port so you can get in and out of the house without getting rained on (it rained a lot, but mostly just sprinkles). The tiny town of Moose Pass is a 2 minute drive. There is a cool restaurant and bar at the Lodge there. Great buffalo wings and cold beer. Friendly folks. There is a cash only convenience store across the street from there. And a fudge store down the street. They also do flightseeing tours on float planes on the lake next to the Lodge. Also kayaking. You can hear the planes when they fly... sometimes right over the house. And you can hear the train in the distance when it passes by. I liked both of these little experiences. Moose Pass is an excellent central spot to rent a house. It is near Seward. Near the Sterling Highway which takes you to Cooper Landing, the whole Kenai peninsula area along the river, Soldotna, the town of Kenai and eventually Homer. It is also near Whittier but I wasn't a huge fan of that town. I know there are some great boat tours out of Whittier so don't let my opinion keep you away. On my way back from Whittier I decided to visit the town of Hope. Love it."
