Farm is somewhat remote so owner met us on a paved road to lead us in!Very friendly and helpful.Strong Wi-Fi but no cell service Cabin was very clean and comfortable
We loved our stay. A nice quiet location but still close to amenities. Check in was a breeze. We loved seeing the deer in the early morning and later in the evening.
We were in town for a wedding close by and this place was perfect! The property was beautiful and the cabin was super clean and cozy. We had other friends rent the other cabins and we had a great time sitting by the fire at night. Plenty of room for a pack n play for our daughter.
Had some work to do in the area and needed a place to stay. Birddog Farm offered a nice cabin that was pet friendly. The bed was soft and the shower was hot, everything that I could ask for after a long workday.
We enjoyed our stay at Birddog Farm. The cabin was exceptionally clean, the bed comfortable and the shower has great water pressure. If you want to get away from the rush and noise, this is the place to go. We explored places within 1 hr to 1 1/2 hrs away from the farm. Some places we visited were Defeated Creek, Falcon Rest Mansion, the Lost River Cave, and Wynnwood State Historic site.
Couldn't have asked for better hosts and accomodations! Communication was excellent. Everything you could need was provided and then some. Decor and queen bed were unexpectedly upscale. Fresh pastries to greet us when we arrived. On site fishing for hubby. Will definitely return!
BirdDog Farm is in the country. My grandchildren loved fishing in the pond! They caught 4 nice size bass. The cabins were very nice and comfortable. Our hostess could not have been nicer and helpful. She help us with directions and making sure we had everything we needed. We look forward to visiting again. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us.
We absolutely loved everything about our stay! The cabin was very clean and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. It’s so peaceful on the property. We brought our 2 dogs and they had plenty of space to explore. This has been our favorite place to stay so far. We will definitely be back.
The cabins are cute and very clean. The attached cabin was the only other occupied cabin, and we never heard a peep out of them. Quiet, cute country retreat with plenty of things to keep you occupied if you chose to stay on the property the whole time. Communication with the owner was great. They even met us in town and took us back to the property so we didn't get lost. Check in and out was also a breeze. Highly recommend!
Great place to relax! Cabin and farm were beautiful. Joanne and Terry were super friendly and there for anything we needed. This is a great place to go to get away from everything.
The perfect place for my solo getaway. The cabin was spotless, peaceful, and everything I needed was right at my fingertips. Such a great place to relax and recharge. The bed was extremely comfortable, the porch inviting, and it's really a perfect place to rest, reflect, and unplug. The host had everything I needed and was responsive when I had questions, making the entire experience seamless. I left refreshed and have already started looking forward to returning. Highly recommend this cabin for anyone seeking peace, solitude, and comfort.
We would stay here permanently if we could! We had such a great time, and JoAnne (owner) could have been nicer. She literally thought of everything, down to the most minute detail.
I travel a lot for work and have never found a more calm and welcoming environment. I like it so much here that I renewed my contract for four more weeks knowing I would not find such a great place to stay next time. Jessie is amazing!!
If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful place to get away from it all, BirdDog Farm is the BEST EVER!! The Kemp family make sure your stay is everything you want it be. Right down to the little personal touches to our cabin. We loved everything about our visit! We will be back! Thank you for all you did for us!
I’ve been here several weeks as a travel nurse working a local contract. The kemp’s have been incredibly friendly and helpful during my stay. My cabin is clean and you cannot beat the natural beauty just outside your door. My contract may end soon and I’m really going to miss this place when I move on to my next contract.
I stay in local places such as this quite often. When I leave I get a request to submit a review and rarely actually write one. This host and property may be one of the best I have had the pleasure of staying in. When JoAnne opened the door to this remote cabin I was blown away by what I saw. The furnishings, the cookies and drinks that were stocked in the cabin and just overall attention to detail was amazing.
Aside from the property itself the host and hospitality was at a level you just don’t get very often.
I actually hope I need to travel back here for work in the future so I have the chance to stay here again.
I have been here for a few weeks and I feel younger without all the stress of a city. Birds singing and all the sounds of nature right outside your door. Cabins are clean and comfortable with excellent air conditioning and the best showers (water pressure and hot). The kemp family has treated me like family from the first night I came and have been consistent in their hospitality. Jessie has been the kindest guide to the way of life in Tennessee. She has been so helpful it’s hard to believe she is only 25. Gabby the dog is still my favorite but Jessie is a close second. I would highly recommend staying here for a little escape from the world.
My parents moved to the area from the Chicago suburbs earlier in the year. I’ve visited them a few times but this was my husband’s first time visiting. We wanted to bring our dogs and this property came up in my search as pet friendly and very close to my parent's new home. That was just the beginning! I’ve stayed at many vacation rentals in my time but Bird Dog is by far the most complete, pristine, thoughtful and friendly of them all. It is remote, but that’s clearly stated, and for us, the tranquil retreat we needed! The landscape in fall is just gorgeous with the beautiful trees changing, and a sky FULL of stars (and even a few shooting stars). We didn't have a ton of time to fish, but my husband did catch a few fish right away! The cabins are above and beyond thoughtfully equipped, and JoAnne, Terry, and Jessie were the most welcoming and sweet hosts. They left extra towels and sheets for our dogs, had an excellent snack and drink selection, equipment to make your own meals, and even nice dinnerware, glasses and silverware! They even invited us (and my parents) up for a chili dinner and bonfire with other neighbors and friends. They felt like family and were so attentive and thoughtful. We will be back!
I have been here for several trips over the last few months. Now that my contract is ending and I will be moving on shortly, I have been reflecting on all of the great people I have met and the family and friends I have made. The Kemp family is friendly and inviting making you feel like part of the family. The cabins are clean and very well furnished with comfortable beds. The surroundings are peaceful and a great place to relax and enjoy some family time or alone time. No traffic noise or hustle out here. Take a nap in the afternoons and enjoy a drink in the evenings. I will miss being here but, I look forward to coming back for some rest and relaxation when it’s needed. Oh I almost forgot they have a dog named gabby who will make all your stress fade away she is an excellent fetch partner and loves treats and belly rubs. Truly an amazing experience!!!
I would have liked to stay longer to explore more of the area. The cabins are in a tranquil location allowing one to unplug and unwind. I was attending a family reunion and when I heard we were staying in cabins I was expecting a little rustic stay. To my surprise I felt like I was in a 4-star hotel. They provided mini cupcakes to welcome us. Each morning I enjoyed a nice cup of coffee with the breakfast bread they provided. I appreciated each cup and plate in the cupboard was individually wrapped. I got the best night sleep I had in a long time, as the bed was very comfortable. I liked sitting outside at night looking at all the stars. The sky was so clear since there was no light pollution around.
