Old traditional hotel but rooms are in terrible decaying conditions and very dirty. Only a small portion in a newer building has renovated rooms. Pillows smelled so bad like never washed that I had to use a towel to cover them, but bed sheets were clean. Issues with old wood structure and termite damage in the rooms as well as very dirty bathroom. Friendly reception was very helpful arranging a morning safari but seemed embarrassed themselves about the neglected conditions of the rooms. Thekkady is a popular Hindu pilgrimage location hence hotels are quickly full. Hotel restaurant staff was very disinterested to take orders and serve breakfast or food, but great coffee shop across from hotel instead and excellent other restaurants within five minutes walking distance like the Jungle Cafe restaurant.

It's good, but there are no facilities as you demonstrated in the web site, please review on this and explicity inform about what would be the facilities available in the room, otherwise its good. But no breakfast is provided and for vegitarian it is very difficult to stay in this place because, pure vegitarian hotel is far away from this place.

Das Hotel Ambadi ist ein Heritage-Hotel mit schöner Architektur, freundlichem und hilfsbereiten Personal, einer ordentlichen Küche und einem günstigen Preis in akzeptabler Lage. Allerdins fehlten ausreichende Ablage-und Hängemöglichkeiten für Kleidung, und das Bad hätte bessere Maintenance verdient. Die schöne Sitzmöglichkeit auf dem Balkon verlangt Aufmerksamkeit gegenüber umherstreifenden Affen, die rückseitigen Zugänge der Zimmer könnten besser ausgeleuchtet sein.Das WLAN ist nur in Rezeptionsnähe nutzbar.

Much less than expected. Not worth the money

My experience here wasn't great. Bed sheets and towels were damp (due to humidity/rain & no AC). Floors and bathroom were dirty/dusty. No wifi or TV in rooms. Location is right outside Tiger Reserve but I learned that there are hotels inside the reserve that are much nicer and the same cost as Ambadi, plus you don't have to pay the park entrance fee to get in if you are staying inside. Food in the hotel restaurant was good.

The hotel and room was really nice. The only issue for me was the bathroom was bit dated. The staff is very nice and arranged all our local transport needs.

The Ambardi hotel was recommended to me by a friend .....it is a charming hotel full of character. The location is excellent .....easy to reach the wildlife sanctuary and also to go up to the Katakali and martial arts performances....only a 5 minute walk. the rooms were comfortable...lovely hot water showers! Only downside was the cars parked outside our room waiting for people staying....this is to be addressed i believe with other parking to be arranged. We ate in the hotel....food was ok.....kingfisher beer a great treat.....there are other places to eat around too. the shops outside on the roadside are mostly souvenir shops but the shopkeepers were goodhumoured and didnt pester too much. shame there wasnt more variation in what they were selling. Would go back and recommend it to others.

Vu de l'extérieur, ces bungalows semblent agréables...Mais chambre très humide avec forte odeur de moisi, traces de moisi sur les murs et moisi dans le placard. Draps très humides. Mauvais rapport qualité/prix !
