Things to do in Gennadi

Set between two rocky headlands on the east coast of Rhodes is the scenic Tsambika Beach. Tsambika Beach takes its name from Tsambika Monastery, which sits on top of a hill at the north end of the beach.

Pefkos Beach is an easy-going beach resort that attracts a mix of young families, couples and locals. Pefkos Beach is spread around a small bay, flanked by hills and the tall pine trees that give this former fishing village its name. The Greek word “pefko” translates as “pine.”

St. Paul’s Bay is a scenic bay with a pretty and relatively quiet beach. Head to the strip of golden sand, which is bordered by wind-sheltering cliffs and is backed by bright bougainvillea.

The striking looking Acropolis of Lindos sits high on a hilltop above the village of Lindos. The origins of the ancient citadel lie in the 9th century B.C., and it also served as a stronghold throughout the Byzantine period, the era of the Knights of St. John and during Ottoman rule. Visit the ruins of its temples, towers, castle and amphitheater for insights into the history of Lindos.
