Everything just seemed dirty, but location was good.
The location is great, just 2 miles away for south entrance to Sequoia National Park. Staff was very courteous and accommodating. They were kind enough to give us a 1-bedroom with a kitchenette in the living room. When the water heater broke, they allowed us to shower in another room.
The amenities were mediocre with broken water heater, broken coffee maker and limited lighting. The facility needs an infrastructure improvement for greater business interest for a hotel in such a crucial location.
I appreciate that this motel is in a remote location but everything felt very tired and a bit grubby so we were glad that we were only there for one night.
The location is convenient for Sequoia NP.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
It was better than expected from other reviews. I had to clean the bathroom when we arrived. The sheets and room seemed clean enough.
The room was big and comfortable. The location hasa huge advantage that its close to the park, but its disadvantage is limited food options close by. Price was reasonable.
The showerhead in the bathroom kept leaking, thats my only minor gripe with the stay. Otherwise, a very nice place to stay for a trip to Sequoia NP.
The hotel stay was fine, older hotel but good for the price and proximity to the park.

We were glad to stay at The River Inn as it was just at the foothills of the Sequoia National Park. There was Totem Marketplace next to the inn and it was awesome. The staff was amazing, their food was delicious and had a huge collection of souvenirs. The highlight of our stay was sighting a black bear cub on the property.

Met our needs
Our room was dirty and dusty but the bed was clean and comfortable. The coffee maker, microwave and remote did not work. I had to clean when we checked in. But the staff at the desk rectified everything else right away. The location was great, close to Sequoia with food options close by. Very pretty spot.
We stayed here after a day in Sequoia NP. The motel was convenient and a short drive to the entrance of the park. Unfortunately it was extremely hot during our stay, but the AC unit inside did its job and kept us cool enough. Would stay again
Location to Sequoia Natl Park was great. It was a long way to Kings Canyon not convienient at all. The room was clean but very dated. The electrical outlets did not work next to the sink with microwave.
This place was fine. Very basic. I had a giant suite I guess you’d call it. It was located behind the main office. Had a kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. It was clean and comfortable for my needs.

Clean, pleasant and amazing location.
The staff were so nice and helpful with local recommendations. The room was old but super clean and everything worked fine. Cant beat the location or the cafe/market next door.

After reading mixed reviews, I didn’t know what to expect. I had booked a standard King room, but upon check in we were given a back room that had a small kitchen and a back door. Did not feel comfortable with that room, but later they were able to switch us to a standard room in the front building. Looks like they have been doing upgrades since the pictures I saw, the floor, bedding and new screens were nice. Seemed decently clean. It’s an older hotel, so some fixtures show that but we expected that. We ended up having a nice stay overnight.
Was conveniently located to Sequoia National Park. Housekeeping could have been a little better, but overall was acceptable. The staff was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place.
It was very relaxing and had plenty of places to eat nearby.
