Join the locals during the evening paseo (nightly walk) near the city's iconic 2000-year-old Roman aqueduct. The main action happens at Plaza Azoguejo, which the aqueduct crosses on it's way to the Alcázar. The aqueduct was built to provide the Roman military base here with a steady supply of water from the Fría River, some 9 miles away. It was so well engineered that it continued to supply water until the late 19th century.

“Looking for a dog friendly hotel in or close to Segovia didnt have much choice. Settled on El Rancho and we were delighted. Forgot to tell them we would have a dog when we booked but the reception staff couldnt have been more helpful. Lovely room on ground floor with a patio door out onto a grassed area was perfect for those middle of the night calls. Continental breakfast had lots of choice”
