Would never rent from this property owner or at that same location ever again.
It says max 8 guests and additional 35$ for extra guests. After I book the property owner told me he only allowed 6 guests and could only add 2 more guests at 70$ A NIGHT!. I had never booked a place like this so I was new to all this. When we arrived I decided to add more guests and asked at the office if I could do it there and was told no. Some how the guy at the office lied to the property owner and said I tried bribing him with cash like 35$ a night for one person was a lot. The owner called me raising his voice at me trying to call me a liar saying I wasn’t a man or some no non sense like that. I kept my cool not wanting to loose the money I had already payed for the apartment. The next day my wife and sister and 2 KIDS ages 5 and 7 were harassed by one of the security guards saying we had too many ppl in the apartment when there was fewer guest then what was on the list. You can’t have any visitors whatsoever. If you’re wanna go and just relax and bot go out this is the place for you. Wanna spend time wirh family and enjoy yourself I suggest you book somewhere else.

When you booked the property you booked it as only 2 adults not until I requested the names of the guest as it is the association rules and regulation for safety and security purposes you disclosed the names and you wanted 8 guest to be at the complex but when I told you there is an extra guest fee for any guests over 6 and it's $35 per night per person that is when you deducted two names so you wouldn't have to pay the extra guest fees but when you got there you had 8 people. I am sorry you are disappointed but our condo complex for reasons of safety and security of all our guests requires the names of everyone registered with the association. We just can't have anyone on the street walk in and out of the complex they need to be registered. If you are looking for something that allows everyone from the street to come in and out at all times of night and day please don't rent from us or with most condo complexes as they have the same rules and regulations.

Beautiful place and great location
Overall this place is a great location to stay. Fantastic view of the ocean, you can capture beautiful sunsets, close access to the pool and jacuzzi, and the parking lot. The complex is perfectly situated with private beach access and feels safe. It’s a great space to stay with a family or group. Overall very clean with the exception of the fridge smelling bad but I think that might be because they shut off power to the unit when no one stays, perhaps people have left food and it goes bad. The guards at the entrance gave us a hard time more than once and were a little rude but that has nothing to do with the actual apartment. The decor was a little excessive and cluttery, we had to move it out of the way to have counter space and then put it back before check out but that was’t too much of a big deal for us. The property owner was responsive and helpful. I would stay here again and I’ve already recommended it to a couple friends. Really enjoyed our long weekend here.

Amazing place to celebrate my 50th birthday!
I came here to celebrate my 50th birthday with my boys and we had such a great time! The condo is conveniently located with 24 hour security so we felt extra safe. The place is very clean, organized, spacious, with an amazing ocean view. Shawn was always very responsive to any questions that I had and was most accommodating. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a nice, relaxing getaway.

Complete bliss, delight and peace
I highly enjoyed staying at Shawn's place. Everything was very clean and beautifully decorated. The lay out of the penthouse is beautiful and views are beyond stunning. It was so enjoyable that I decided to skip out on going out and stayed in the entire weekend. There are more than enough pools and jacuzzis so that it was never crowded. The place is family friendly and felt very safe. The only suggestion I have is that the host supply the basic necessities such as TP, paper towers and toothpaste. However, there is a store nearby where I was able to purchase these items. I highly recommend Shawn's place for a romantic or family getaway. I look forward to staying here again.

Nice condo in nice location
This condo was an overall nice place to stay. The property has several pools and jacuzzis. (I wasn’t happy that a guard chased my 9-year-old out of the lap pool on Saturday but then let younger kids swim in it the following day, but so be it.) The building is right on a sandy beach with incredible views. My only complaint about the interior of the unit is that the carpets desperately need to be cleaned. Other than that, the unit was great. Overall, we had a great time there.

Scenic, Great Location, and Completely Safe!
I had a lovely stay at Shawn's condo. It was well-appointed, safe, and had scenic views. The condo itself is big, with large rooms, and a large master bath (Quick note ... do not use both showers at the same time as one will experience a significant decrease in water pressure). The staff and security were friendly and I felt completely safe while on the property. It is a great place to get away and still enjoy the night life (short 5 min. ride). I would definitely stay here again!!

Very comfortable stay. Views espectacular, facilities are very well kept and safe. Security is friendly and very present. Can’t walk to downtown but it’s a short drive. Beach was very private with no street vendors soliciting to sell products. I plan on coming back. Bring toiletries and beach towels, they are not provided.

Disappointing!!!

Unfortunately the renters abused our checkout policy. The checkout time is at 11:00 am now I make exception to the rule if you are honest and let me know if you are going to be late by up to one hour but I was informed by my cleaning crew that they were still there by 12:45 pm I called Daniel and we agreed that he could stay and checkout late by 1:30 but there was a late checkout fee of $75 but then again I got a message around 3:00 pm that they were still there and not leaving. I called him and warned him they need to leave right away and if they don't they will forfeit their $200 deposit. Their response was we are leaving right now but then I received another text message by our cleaning crew that they were still there by 4:30 pm so I called him again and told him he needs to leave and made it very clear that if he does not leave soon he will forfeit his right to his deposit, he again told me he was leaving right away but they did not leave until way after 5:30 pm. I have had hundred's of guests in my place that still rent from me and most of them have given me and my property 5 star reviews but this guest blatantly disregarded the rules of our rental contract and checkout time and was warned many times but still was dishonest about it. I rather get a one star review then get a 5 star review if he understands that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated and hopefully will not be repeated. Best regards, Shawn Hamidi

Second time was better than the first!
This is my second stay in Shawn’s Oceanfront Penthouse!! Location is perfect! Close enough to Rosarito for great restaurants and bars, yet just far enough away to be quiet. The views from the luxury penthouse are AMAZING! The unit itself is in great shape and comes with a laundry room. Easy access to sandy beaches and pools. Shawn is a great host and responded quickly to my messages. I also recommend a trip 8 miles south and visit Puerto Nuevo. Lobster, rice, beans and fresh tortillas!!

Amazing View
We had a great weekend celebrating a 30th birthday at Shawn's condo. The complex is very safe, there are many pools and hot tubs to choose from, and the private beach was perfect. The condo itself fit 8 people comfortably and the view from the patio couldn't be beat.

Best location near Rosarito! Great for families!
Very spacious 3 bedroom unit that comfortably slept our family of 6 (kids ages 16,14, 12, 9). 1/2 mile long beach is the best spot in the area - great, sandy beach - perfect for boogie boarding and swimming. Close enough to town to get needed groceries or step outside complex for fabulous mexican food at Ajenjo Cocina de Inpriacion/Latitud 54 59 taco bar.

Amazing Penthouse!

Breathtaking view! Super clean! Exceeded my expectations!
This beautiful 14th floor Condo is breathtaking! I’m super picky when it comes to staying anywhere besides my home. This home is very clean and well maintained. There’s plenty of blankets, sheets and towels. You do need to bring your own shampoo, tooth paste and body soap. We rented this beauty for my father’s 60th bday weekend. There were 9 of us including my 2 year old newphew. Upon arrival the security guard at the gate counted our guests and charged us $4 each for a wrist band which must be worn your entire stay. Security is very tight here and they have cameras all over the property and parking facility. Only one car was allowed in the protected parking structure but since it wasn’t a busy weekend they allowed two vehicles. Every time we went to our cars or walked around the property we saw security which made our stay more comfortable. I will definitely rent this home again. Shawn the owner is very kind and caring.

great place and location - bring your own beach chairs and water
This place was a great location and lovely condo. It was very clean, and the pools were abundant and fun. The beach was right below the pools. The only problems were: not enough paper goods, ie toilet paper, paper towels, no bottled drinking water ( we had to go out and find some as soon as we got there). About 1/2 of the light bulbs were burned out, but as soon as we contacted the owner he had maintenance come and fix them. There were plenty of towels for bathing and the pools. It would be nice to have some fold up beach chairs available to take down to the beach. Be sure to bring your own if you want to lay out on the beach. Overall a great place, however.

Great place to relax and enjoy your family.
We had a great time, we would stay again. The whole complex is very clean and security is top notch. The pools are always clean, and the kids really enjoyed the heated pool and the private beach. Our place was clean and had everything we needed.

Wonderful location, very safe and clean ... beautiful views... the condo was abosultely Amazing and had everything you needed and was fully equipped... And has a gorgeus romantic setting couples will enjoy... shawn was very attentive to our needs and was very prompt with his responses... the condos location was within a very close proximity to all the shops, restaurants, bars, night life, and beaches... My family and I loved our stay... it may have been short bit was definitely sweet!!! definitely a must try!!!

The place is overall beautiful & very comfortable
The condo was overall very nice, we arrived earlier than the check in time which they allowed us to do but for an extra cost. Town was like 7-10 minute drive which is not too bad. Arrrivng we didn't know what we were able to work with but the kitchen is stocked & it provides towels & full washer & dryer which was useful. There are many pools to choose from & hot tubs. Just make sure to bring utilities for you're personal use such as toilet paper that would of been nice to know. But overall the place was beautiful & relaxing. We will most likely return

Gorgeous view and condo
We went down to Mexico for a girl's trip/birthday trip and definitely weren't disappointed in the La Jolla Del Mar condos. Shawn made the whole trip easy and answered all of our questions in a very prompt manner. I would definitely return and stay there again and would highly recommend anyone to stay in his condo. Absolutely breathtaking view of the ocean and beach from this 14th floor penthouse suite. It was very clean and well maintained.

Perfect Spring Break Property
Thank you so much for the beautiful accomodations at La Jolla Del Mar. We took our two teenagers with us for Spring Break vacation and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to kick back, relax and enjoy the amazing views from our 14th floor balcony. It was so great to listen to the ocean and feel the cool breeze in the evening after getting home from a fun filled day & night in downtown Rosarito. Papa’s and Beer was everything we expected and the shopping was great. Our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom penthouse was exactly what the pictures depicted and having a washer/dryer was a bonus. I would recommend that if you bring teenagers, to bring a basketball (there’s a court they can use) and an American football to play catch. As high up as we were, it would have been nice to have a pair of binoculars to watch the birds & ships up close. Rosarito is not too far from Ensenada and we took a day trip down to the wineries. L.A. Cetto is great for their hospitality and informative tour. Not to mention the wine tasting. I highly recommend going to at least one winery while there. All in all, our week long vacation was a blast. Family, new friends, weather, ocean views, beautiful penthouse suite. Everything was amazing. Thanks for your hospitality. Paul and Janet Smith
