The area is ideal for hiking and has abundant animal and bird life, including reindeer grazing on the island. If you are looking for a greater challenge, you can climb Trollfjellet at 1010 meters above sea level. From here you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Vestfjord, Ofoten and the surrounding mountains. In the area there is a great opportunity to see the beautiful Northern Lights, and in summer the midnight sun shows its best side. Take a day trip to the coastal town of Harstad.
