"We had a great long weekend celebrating a 50th birthday. The house had everything we needed. We enjoyed afternoons in the hot tub and evenings by the fire pit or by the fire in the living room. Beds were comfortable. Will definitely be looking to book again but bringing our teenage children to enjoy the lake and area."

"Title: Disappointing stay due to safety and maintenance issuesReview:Upon arrival, the driveway and entryway were completely covered in snow and ice, even though it had snowed more than a week earlier. The entrance we were required to use was very slippery, creating safety concerns when entering the property.Inside, the condition of the home did not match the photos or description provided online. The bathrooms showed visible maintenance issues, including rust on the convectors, holes in the walls and ceiling, dim lighting, and tubs that flooded during showers. Several fixtures were damaged, including broken shower doors, unpainted plastering, damaged closet doors, and broken towel racks.We had planned to use the grill, and this was discussed prior to arrival. However, the entire outdoor area, including the back porch, was covered in snow, and the grill was buried and inaccessible, despite mild temperatures during the weekend.We contacted the owner regarding the snow and icy conditions and were told someone would come by the following day, but this did not occur. We were informed that salt and a shovel were available, which required us to address the conditions ourselves.Our family had planned a relaxing weekend getaway, but due to the safety concerns and overall condition of the property, the stay did not meet our expectations. This review reflects our personal experience during this booking."

"I will stay at Castle Idlewild was wonderful. Everything was perfect. I would say the only thing that they lacked in was we had to fill up the tub 2 to 3 times with hot water so we can sit and soak in the tub for relaxation which was so wonderful truly recommend this jewel to everyone."

"The guest never answered my calls. I was at the property security gate with my whole family unable to get in. Expedia ended up canceling my rental. "

"The owner was supposed to give us the code to check in and never answered our calls or texts. We waited outside of the home for over an hour. Even Vrbo tried to get in contact with the owner. We were on a tight schedule and had to pivot and find an emergency local hotel to stay in. So unfortunately never got to stay. "

"We couldn't have asked for a better place. We did a family trip with 6 children and 8 adults. The house very accommodating and had everything we needed. The pool table and hot tub were a bonus. Kristin was very accessible and made our trip seamless. I would definitely go back again "
