"We spent 6 wonderful days at Barceló and were so sad to leave. We will definitely be back. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. We especially appreciated the waiter Moises for his great service, and the entire entertainment team with Anahi (we loved the guacamole making class) and Fernando, who brought great energy with his dancing and poolside fun. Our biggest standout was Carlos at the Kids Club, with his infinite energy! He and his team made our kids comfortable and excited every day. We did not expect to use the kids club, but our kids loved it so much they kept asking to go back. Our 5 year old enjoyed crafts, painting, musical chairs, and face painting. Both kids loved piñata making, the Mario Kart tournament, and evening activities like the Mexican party with candy. The beach was beautiful, and one day we even saw a humpback whale breach five times in the bay. We went whale watching with the Jack Sparrow tour company at the hotel and the crew was fantastic. It was also fun recognizing the exterior, hallways, and pool from Apple TV’s Acapulco. Our favorite day was Mexican Day. The buffet was excellent with fresh fruit, juices, and Mexican food, and the show was great. Weekends felt bigger than weekdays. A few minor downsides: limited non alcoholic drinks, basic coffee options, language barriers at specialty restaurants, an extremely cold room with no HVAC fix, no do-not-disturb signs, very thick pillows, and slow disappointing food at the Kyoto restaurant."
