"What a great find; such a unique location just outside of town. This is an old forestry school and we appreciated the thoughful nods to its history. The front desk was SO helpful and friendly. Upon checking in, our room was on the 2nd floor. My friend sprained her ankle the day before and I asked if they had an elavator (they dont) but they offered to change our room and move us to the first floor to make it easier. This was such a kind gesture and much appreciated. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable beds! The lobby is super fun. You can buy snacks and they had some fun trinkets and souvenirs. There were always a few people hanging out watching the Olympics with a beer or coffee. You can get beverages and hot drinks from reception. They also have a bar/lounge area that looked fun. The restaurant was fabulous. The food was SO good. Definitely make sure to eat at least one meal there! Get the Reindeer Soup. We ate dinner here twice; the first time was out of convenience after travelling all day, the second time out of choice. We had reserved the barrel sauna and river ice plunge. The owner Mikko, escorted us down to the river and was very helpful in getting the sauna going and chipping away at the ice so we felt comfortable getting up and down the ladder leading into the river. We loved everything about this place. Having a car was definitely helpful, as it is 15 minutes from Rovaniemi. Thank you for a great stay!"

"Bit unfair to single out one person from the group of staff who were all very professional and super friendly BUT the Check in lady on Saturday morning 24th January was exceptional, an absolute credit to Scandic. In regards amenities, we had 2 rooms and they were clean and met our needs for our stay in Kemi. We also ate in the Bistro and found the service and food to be very good."
