"No communication from the host the day of check in! Which means we had no lock box code and no wifi. There is no cellular in that area, so we were going to drive back down the hill for reception. Thankfully, the nice folks in the domes shared the wifi code with me. I tried calling the host, messaging on WhatsApp, and messaging via VRBO with no response. I was on hold with VRBO when the nice cleaning lady walked by. After trying to explain to her that the host was not responding, she gave me...

"Great place and very clean. Any issues we had Sergio resounded quickly to fix any issues and offered many recommendations since we weren’t familiar with the area. There is a new condo building going up in front of this one so the view was 75% obstructed and it was a little noisy. Very safe area and had no issues while on property. Restaurants within a 15-20 min drive, get your groceries before as the store next door is pricey. Would book again :) "

"We had during our stay moisture next to the bed, that made us sick, ants & a scorpion in the room, 3 electricity blackouts and 3x loss of all the food in the fridge. Additionally to this during the whole stay we were living on a construction site as the owner planed to extend the property. With this circumstances the owner was not ready to reduce price or to find an arrangement that was convenient for us."

"Property was lovely, just as pictured and well appointed. Very safe and convenient location. The pools were beautiful and all within walking distance to marina restaurants and shops. Sadly, we did run into several issues with the unit: the master shower head had no way to turn on the spray, the safe was unable to be closed and programmed, the coffee pot kept overflowing, and we had some issues with the thermostat that we finally googled and resolved. They issued a card that promised discounts at...

Top Tortuga Island Hotel Reviews

Eco Boutique Hotel Vista Las Islas Reserva Natural

10/10 Excellent

"The staff we’re amazing Ana was so helpful. The food was delicious. We loved bed the pool and cocktails."

Marriott Vacation Club at Los Suenos

10/10 Excellent

"This was our first time in Costa Rica, the Resort was absolutely beautiful and the staff was helpful and friendly. We stayed at the Marriot Vacation Club. Our room was clean and super cute. My favorite part was sitting on my balcony every evening, The only complaint that I would have is that the food was expensive but the views were well worth it."

Akua Ocean View Suites

10/10 Excellent

"This place was nice for the price you pay! A trek from the Airport , about $250 spent on round trip and an hour and a half each way . The space was nice .. room looks exactly like the pictures. The second night tho the lights , which include the AC went out for about 3-4 hours .. it was so hot ! Eventually it came back on but just a little annoying trying to sleep in that . Aside from those things , the space itself was definitely worth what you pay for and Uber was readily available and was how we got around for the most part. The gate closes and locks at a certain time so we felt extra security with that feature."

Tango Mar Beachfront Boutique Hotel & Villas

10/10 Excellent

"We had a great stay at Tango Mar. The owner always greeted us each day to see how we were or how our day was. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious! I took advantage of the spa and had an incredible massage. Gorgeous views of the ocean right out your window and the multiple pools to cool off in with the heat. Swimming beaches were a short drive away if you wanted to swim in the ocean."
