This condo is perfect for business travelers, families and small groups looking to stay close to all the attractions of Traverse City, including wineries, craft breweries and restaurants. The condo can accommodate 6 guests (No Pets) and is easily accessible via an elevator from the basement garage level all the way up to your condo floor - no need to climb stairs. This condo is a single level with no interior stairs.

☆☆ BEDROOMS ☆☆
This Traverse City condo combines two separate units to create a spacious two bedroom, two bathroom unit with plenty of flexibility and privacy for guests. Each bedroom is equipped with a queen-sized bed, plus a queen-sized pull-out sofa in the living room. If you’re traveling with a young one, you’ll find a Pack and Play crib and a highchair in the closet.

The condo has two full bathrooms featuring standup showers and high quality amenities. One bath is accessible with grab bars and a bath chair, and we have furnished everything you may need for a stay away from home.

The fully-equipped kitchen has everything you’ll need to cook up tasty meals, including new stainless-steel appliances and a coffee station with an assortment of coffee and tea. The kitchen is stocked with all necessary utensils, glassware, dinnerware and pantry essentials. A crockpot and blender are available for use in our common library area. We also supply kids' bowls, utensils, and a highchair for young families.

Just across from the kitchen and dining area is the cozy living room with large picture windows to enjoy the view, plush furnishings to sit and relax, and a flat-screen Smart TV equipped with HULU live cable channels, Netflix, and Disney+ for your own logins. If you’re looking for some family fun or a group activity, check out our collection of board games, kids' toys and books. The living room features a queen-sized pull-out sofa.

Other things to note

Parking: on-site is limited, here are a few options in the area for your consideration, as downtown is largely a walkable community.

Onsite Metered:
The basement parking garage offers free parking from 6:00 PM to 8:00 AM (despite signage indicating "no overnight parking," as it's not metered or monitored until 8:00 AM).
From 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Saturday, 3-hour metered parking is available. Payment is accepted via ParkMobile, online, toll-free, or with coins.

Free:
Open Street parking is available on Boardman Ave., Webster St., Washington St., and surrounding neighborhood streets. Vehicles found parked on any street or alley between 3:00am-6:00am may be towed at the owner's expense. Overnight parking is generally permitted during the spring and summer months on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday only. Follow street signage.

Old Town Paid Garage: 125 E. Eighth St. Enforced Mon-Sat 8:00am-6:00pm$1.25-$1.50/hour max $20.00 or monthly permit for $30.00.

Hardy Paid Garage: 303 E. State St. Enforced Mon-Sat 8:00am-6:00pm$1.25-$1.50/hour max $20.00 or monthly permit for $50.00.

Please note that 3 days before check in time, we will place a temporary pre-authorization hold of $250.00 on your card. This hold verifies fund availability and covers potential incidental expenses during your stay. The hold will be released 7 days after check-out, pending no outstanding charges or damages. Your privacy and security are paramount, and all card information is handled confidentially. There is a non-refundable credit card processing fee applied to all reservations.
Guests can choose to pay a $25 amenity fee per guest per stay for access to the gym and other community facilities located onsite .

Guest parking is available in a paid parking ramp located .3 miles away. Guests may pay to park nearby or onsite a public, metered parking. Please see details listed

No smoking is allowed anywhere on the premises, including marijuana, vaping, or other types of smoking.

Guests are asked to be respectful of neighbors and quiet hours between 10pm-7am daily.

The Terms and Conditions apply to this Short-Term Stay Agreement (“Agreement”) made between the Guest (you) and the Host, Commongrounds Cooperative, for the guest unit specified in the booking process. The guest unit and other common areas in Commongrounds shall be referred to as the “Premises.”

TERM. The Guest is granted a license to enter and occupy the Premises for the date and time specifically authorized by Commongrounds, for the fees detailed in the booking process and this agreement.

BOOKING FEES. The Guest shall pay the Host the amount as detailed during the booking process.

OWNER BOOKING. Only cooperative owners in good standing may book through the member booking website. If a non-owner books through the website and are not a owner, they will be required to either become a member (including purchase of ownership share and paying annual dues) or to pay the increased public booking fees. If a non-eligible party uses a discount code, they will also be required to pay the regular price and the discount code will be invalidated by Commongrounds.

COUPONS. Owner coupons are limited to one use per owner, maximum 7 nights, with July and August excluded.

PETS. The Host does not allow pets: There are no pets allowed on the Premises. If the Guest is found to have pets on the Premises, this Agreement and any Security Deposit shall be forfeited.

QUIET HOURS. Quiet hours begin at 10:00 PM each night and continue until 8am. Quiet hours consist of no music and keeping all audio at a minimum level out of respect for the surrounding residents.

OCCUPANTS. The total number of individuals staying on the Premises shall be the number authorized in your listing and booking process. If more than the authorized number of guests listed above are found on the Premises, this Agreement will be subject to termination by the Host plus a $100/guest fee.

SECURITY DEPOSIT. The Guest shall be obligated to pay a Security Deposit amount as detailed in the booking process. The Security Deposit is for the faithful performance of the Guest under the terms and conditions of this Agreement. Any damages, lost item fees, or other outstanding fees will be paid by the Security Deposit before the remainder, if any, is returned to the guest in the Host’s discretion based on the Host’s determination of the cost to repair or replace damages or lost items or other fees.

BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR. Be friendly, use common sense and consideration of others, and leave common areas as you found them or better. If you use a chair or sink or dish, please clean and return to its home for the next neighbor to enjoy. If you see another guest or a neighbor, say hello and offer a friendly wave and smile. When using common areas or resources, be mindful that others can hear you or may want to share use as well.

FAMILY FRIENDLY. Commongrounds is a family-friendly building and kids are welcome with their parents in common areas. If you see someone with a young child who could use help with a door or just a goofy face, please offer some support if you are able. Parents - please don’t leave kids unattended and be responsible for your kids’ interactions with others and building property.

BE KIND TO COMMON AREAS. Guest is authorized to use common areas in the building to the extent authorized by Commongrounds, and subject at all times to any rules or restrictions imposed by Commongrounds, which may change without notice at any time.

Perfect location

Can’t wait to go back!

I am so glad we stayed at Birch Maple House. It was a quick walk to downtown TC and you’re right down the road from a bike rental shop. The biking trails are literally behind the coop. There is plenty of parking options and spaces. The main grocery store is just a quick 5 minute drive. The coffee shop and bar on the main floor were awesome and the staff was super kind. The apartment itself was stunning and clean. There was so much sunlight through the large windows that overlook the river! I’d give it a 100/10 if I could! The only thing I would love more, is if there was a TV in one or both of the bedrooms and not just the living room. Thank you for the awesome place to stay!

Quick trip to Traverse City

Great location, downtown is walkable from the house. The apartment is convertible depending on the number of guests you have. We had only three total and had two bedrooms. The place is spacious. We didn’t use any of the amenities but they have everything here. Would recommend! The only issue with any VRBO is the fees! The fees are almost as much as the rental!
