The house is in a great location and sunsets/moonsets over the lake are beautiful! There are 60 very steep, sandy steps down to the beach--hand railings accompany only about 8 of those steps. An alternative is to walk a couple blocks to the beach, which is easy. When we arrived, the sliding screen door on the back of the house was off, and leaning against the house, but we easily popped it back in place. The house is dated, and the carpeting exceptionally stained and dirty, but beds were comfortable, bedding was fresh, and bathrooms were clean. There are mice in the basement-we saw them the morning we left. The dropped basement ceiling is only 7' high, and the ceiling over the stairway leading to the basement is under 6' high, so don't recommend sleeping down there, but it was nice to have a washer and dryer in the basement. The door handle to the basement entrance was on the ground when we arrived but we were able to re-connect it, we just chose not to use that entrance door for the rest of our stay. Fenced back yard for the dogs was very handy, although a previous dog had dug a deep hole in the yard next to the deck which we avoided by putting one of the deck chairs over it.
