「The hotel grounds are beautiful, and the staff went out of their way to help us. We were assigned a "family" room with an inredible view, even though we had requested a King. There was no problem in switching over - we understood that the girl at reception was giving us an upgrade with the view, but we preferred the larger bed. Our rate included breakfast and dinner. We had the same server (Erica) each night, and she was so fantastic.」

「A wonderful peaceful 3-day stop staying in the superior lodge room. The room itself comprised a spacious living area and a similarly large bedroom set a short walk from the castle itself. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful. Breakfast was superb with a great selection of high quality options. Highly recommended for anyone looking to stay in the area.」

「We arrived early knowing that check in was not until 4pm but were told they had informed housekeeping we had arrived and to have lunch in the bar. We came back 3.5 hours later to be told the room was still not ready when other people who arrived after us were given rooms. Very poor start to our break 」

「The character of the castle is excellent. Christian toured me around the proper and is a superb concierge. The room itself is lacking. It smells strongly of mildew. Carpeting is worn. Amenities like coffee and cookies need an update. The food at dinner was overly salted and the service declined during the dinner - strong start and a weak finish.」
