I am writing to formally raise a serious concern regarding our recent stay at Otonomus Tulum and the unprofessional behavior of the reception staff, particularly involving a situation with a deposit that we believe was wrongfully withheld.
Overview of the Situation:
Upon arrival, we were asked to pay a $200 deposit for an ATV rental and $50 for the room, but our credit card was charged $225.09 and $56.26, respectively. When questioned, the receptionist claimed the difference was due to currency conversion. We accepted this explanation in good faith that the money will be returned.
Issues Faced During Our Stay:
Bike Rental – Day 1: We rented bicycles which had faulty brakes. We returned them and were given replacements, but those were also in poor condition. We didn’t make a fuss since we only needed them for a short ride.
ATV Rental – Day 2:
We rented an ATV and returned it the same day around 6 PM. While using it, the ATV suddenly stopped working in the middle of nowhere.
