This is a wonderful hotel. The staff there are very welcoming and super attentive to anything you might need. The rooms are clean, well appointed and nicely decorated. The location is great for exploring Turnhout and the area nearby. The buses all come and go from the train station which is next door. It is an easy walk to the Grote Market and all the attractions. The hotel is in the old train depot. It is a great conversion. The breakfast buffet was super. We were there for two days and they changed it up a bit each day. This is a very nice hotel. You will enjoy your stay!

Hotel is generally nice, a little loud with the trains passing behind but not too bad. There are complimentary bottles of water and beer in your room which is a nice surprise! I was on the ground floor and heard some room door slamming but this couldn't be helped as its the only way to close the door behind you. Parking is limited about 15 spots and is public so is free from 6pm until 9am but you have to be quick. Otherwise there a paid car park about 2 or 3 minute walk further down the road.

The best Best Western.
I have stayed all over the world in Best Western Hotels and this has to be the best! Not for the location or the size and plushness of the room, but for the service and friendliness of the staff. There was nothing they would not do to make our stay as pleasant as possible despite these COVID times. Room was comfortable, very clean and had everything we needed. Would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay in the area.

Tour stop in Turnhout
Only got to stay one night to see a concert by The Gathering in the next town over, Vosselaar. Would have been nice to have spent more time in Turnhout and the Best Western would be the ideal base from which to explore the area. located right beside the train station and bus access in the centre of town. The hotel looks like it was once an industrial building related to the railway. one side is up against the tracks and the other an attractive street view. ground floor on the street side gets full windows and a walkout. second floor windows are the rounded top half you see in the pictures so are from your knees to the floor. I did not find the track side second floor noisy. due to construction on the bus area, there are more buses temporarily stopping in front of the hotel than is probably usual. I arrived early but was able to check in. reception was helpful to give local and bus info. Wifi very good, room and bathroom clean and very acceptable. room was stocked with free beverages including medium sized wine bottles.

Bus noise
The choice of breakfast things is good, the location next to the station does mean there is noise in the rooms facing the railway. However it is the noise of the buses which is the issue in the early morning and not the trains.

My room downstairs had window that opens to the train platform and was 20 ft from the train track. No air conditioning. Only upstairs room have A/C. Carpet was dirty. Very basic amenities. Great if you want to be 5 minute from train but noisy and not private at all otherwise. Lack of A/C was very uncomfortable in late August during heat wave. Will avoid this location in the future.

We understand that during the exceptional heat wave this year, it is not always easy to completely control temperature. Our hotel always tries to provide all necessary tools in every room to achieve the wanted room temperature (a/c and/or ventilation) and to provide extra solutions if necessary. Our co-workers are ready 24h/24h to help our guests in case of questions regarding room temperature. Regarding the train track: due to the good central location of our hotel, it is true that trains pass by the hotel building. However and fortunately, trains never pass by at high speed and only run during day time. This limits to a minimum the noise pollution for our guests. Please note hereby that our hotel is located in an old railway station building and that many guests love the nostalgic atmosphere of the area. We regret that our hotel could not meet all your expectations. We nevertheless hope that one day we can still have the chance to prove to you that we do set high standards regarding facilities and service. Kind regards,

Very nice experience; super friendly and helpful at check in and gave me lots of information and a map. :) It is near a train station and is kind of loud during the day, but it didn't seem to keep me up at night.

Lovely friendly staff when we arrived, Nothing was to much trouble. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a lovely terrace to sit on in the evening. A great pet friendly hotel. Would stay here again.

Hotel is near bus and train station so won't suit everyone. Only offers breakfast . Having said that, it was spotlessly clean, had a wonderfully comfortable bed and staff were friendly and helpful. It's a few minutes walk to the main market square with restaurants and bars. ( Also a great Saturday market). Would use again,

Quiet room in convenient location - good value

Not what you usually expect from a Best Western
I stayed here for a business trip. Check-in was smooth & there were complimentary chocolates and a small bottle of red wine in the room. I was meant to have a private balcony but there wasn’t any. An iron was brought to my room when I asked for it. Unfortunately the toilet was not clean and the shower was clogged so I had to stop running the water while showering otherwise it would overflow. The room is a bit claustrophobic as you can’t open any windows or reach the skylight and there should have been a ceiling fan but at least there is air conditioning. I was meant to have a queen bed but had 2 single covers... In the morning the room was lit up as if every light was switched on but this was actually because the daylight was coming through the skylight... Breakfast was a very nice spread and the hotel organised me a taxi as Uber isn’t available in the area. This hotel is probably the best you can find in the area but it could be vastly improved.

Super Stopover
Great location and we really liked the unique layout and look of the building. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Room was on the small side but very well thought out with all necessary amenities. The complimentary drinks were a nice touch and breakfast not overpriced and great value. Will certainly recommend and will return in the future.

Friendly Hotel
Staff are very friendly, excellent breakfast choices and nice touches with the freebies in the room. Downside - My room backed out onto the railway, buses passing passing my window can be noisy at times.

Good location for purpose of my Turnhout visit
Welcome staff, clean and large (as for EU) room, private balcony (at least in odd rooms at 1st floor) with a table, chairs, ashtray, candle, and ikebana, so lovely done. I'd recommend.
