Nestle yourself in the middle a beautiful forest in this one-of-a-kind getaway, located in Twin Lakes, WI. near lakes, golf, skiing, beach and public nature preserves. Perched atop a hill, the cabin is rumored to have originally been a prohibition- era bootlegger’s hideout, with its original restored limestone wood burning fireplace. With renovations over the years, today Owl’s Rest has one cozy king-sized bed in a loft which is open to the vaulted, 1.5 story main great room below. It has a full kitchen, bathroom with shower, and a separate laundry room. Enjoy your coffee in the Adirondack chairs around a cozy fire among the mature oak trees or dine alfresco on the patio under the big pines. Owl’s Rest is located 15 min from Lake Geneva, 1 hour from Milwaukee, and 1.5 hours from Chicago on one acre inside a large old growth forest with a few surrounding neighbors and wildlife. Local owners are off property, minutes away. The one-acre property is accessed by a long uphill gravel driveway, with parking for two cars. Due to the nature of the property, there is uneven terrain with some steep slopes, and the property is not considered accessible or child-proof.

My husband and I sought out a cozy, tree-surrounded cabin for a winter escape. Our goal was to disconnect from everyday life, be present, and slow down. The cabin's meticulous attention to detail, its clean and organized layout, the peaceful ambiance, and the quick communication from hosts all contributed to an experience that surpassed our expectations. We enjoyed birdwatching and watching the sunrise from this amazing location. We can’t praise enough what a wonderful weekend we had. We highly recommend it and plan to return!
