“This place is very tranquil yet close to the Sydney area for convenience. We loved the views, listening to the waves crash, and enjoying the beautiful sunsets. It was fun to watch the lobster boats come and go. There is a seafood market nearby where we bought fresh lobsters a few times. We had classic Cape Breton weather. Wind, rain, sun, thunderstorms (thankful for the generac that kicked on during the two power outages). This home is suitable for two people or perhaps two couples. Our only……

“Lovely, comfortable home in Sydney River. We stayed with our three teenage kids for three nights while visiting family at various locations on Cape Breton. Convenient location, well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds. We would stay here again!”

“Very cute place loved the private beach . The brown tinged water and smell was a bit of a turn off even though they have a water softener and everything in place. Also, I found the floors a bit dirty/sticky. It’s not well marked the house itself, a local had to help us find our spot. It was my first time using this check-in and had no internet so it made things a bit challenging for me.”

“Our room was clean but on the small side. The included breakfast was meager, some bread and jam and cold cereal with coffee and orange juice. Dinner was not very good. As the price was fair for what we got I probably come back again”

“Thanks to the host's kind guidance and thoughtful consideration, I had truly enjoyable and happy days. I want to come back again. Thank you ...”

“Staff was friendly, cabin was beautiful and clean. All around great spot to stay. Will definitely be back!”

“We did not have high expectations, however it was very similiar to staying in student housing. We had to clean many dishes before we used them. It is a run down house. The queen beds were comfortable. Burn Mark on the sheets.!The shower was clean. Overall we were not comfortable in the environment and wanted to leave as quickly as possible.”

“Poor management and maintenance. Place feels like sleeping in a house that has sold the night before the movers come for the last of the furniture. Communication with host non existant. Dirty, sticky floors throughout. Used chewing gum stuck to pool deck. Many things broken and missing. Really disappointing.”

“Although the Rita Suite was clean, comfortable and roomy, and it is in a great location, we found it lacked some basic amenities for travelers such as: Salt and Pepper, cooking oil, servettes, extra roll of paper towel, and sufficient amount of coffee pods for the length of our stay. As well, there was no "Welcome Basket" that we are accustom to seeing at other VRBOs that includes such things as preserves, crackers etc. (i.e. small items that are often not brought by travelers). Lastly, there……
